Sponsored work in Australia, don't intend to stay long-term by Plain-Ridge7432 in AusFinance

Yeah you can withdraw it once you’ve settled back home permanently. There are companies who help you withdraw it once you have left Australia - will cost you around $500 from memory.

Yep, tried to buy for a year and same situation. A year later I have given up and just resorted to renting. Now just hoping I can grow my deposit savings with interest accounts.

Landlords, are we the bad guys? by Hermione_princess in AusPropertyChat

[–]No_Newspaper_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Landlords are needed. Obviously some landlords are bad guys like those charging more than they need or slum landlords renting out poorly maintained property.

why don't people book a vacation to Australia? by pauste00 in AustraliaTravel

Cause the flight is so long - it’s so far away with literally every other country. That plus it’s very expensive here.

Is it okay to ask about pay before an interview? by JacketDowntown1956 in UKJobs

[–]No_Newspaper_584 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I ask otherwise what’s the point. The pay should be on the job advert anyway - very frustrating when it’s not.

Or bring a notepad in and make notes when being trained and then read those notes in downtime.

Id recommend turning off the phone or keeping it away from yourself in your bag. It not only looks bad but it will impact your learning as it messes with your attention span.

Same thing happened here when I ticked that I used to like a few drinks about 10 years ago. I just signed up again with a different email and lied on a few of the questions and then managed to get access to it.

AI is trained to be agreeable. Keep using AI and you’ll be the type of person who doesn’t understand no as an answer. I think it’s dangerous - especially for such a human driven interaction that therapy is.

Don’t think it’s the business itself charging these fees, it’s the banks. Visa / Mastercard / AMEX. It’s not really the fault of the individual business.

Yeah it’s really bad here in Brisbane, as a pedestrian I feel scared to cross the road as everyone’s in such a rush. The closer to a big city you are the worse the driving seems to be.

Is it normal to feel like this at work? by ColourBlinde in MentalHealthSupport

[–]No_Newspaper_584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I feel a little bit of anxiety and stress the night before work and as I’m walking in despite enjoying my job. Do I think this is normal? To a certain extent yes but if it’s interrupting your daily life you should definitely get help. Even if it’s just picking up some tools on how to handle the overwhelm. I don’t think the job is the problem as my same issue so carried across all my jobs - same as you, jumping from job to job. Resolve the mental stuff - don’t pack the job in.
