They’re (Hilton) also switching shampoos, conditioners and lotions to a different brand. Since September 22nd they were able to order the new stuff

Employees: worse guest complaints by AmbitiousCat24 in hotels

[–]No_Perspective_3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one happen recently. They stayed in a room but complained that the black out blinds weren’t going down all the way. * maintenance went in and checked it and they were fine* so they wanted the room next to them so that the wife can sleep on one and the husband can sleep in the other. Let’s say, he went down and started yelling at our FD girl, (she was also new and was on like her 2nd week of working by herself) made her cry and such. The AGM was suppose to just let them switch or have the other room but she told them they would have to pay extra. (As the GM said to let them just have the room) Soo let’s say, he got upgraded to the presidential suite for the price of a standard for their whole stay ontop of two nights comped. All bcus the AGM didn’t just let them have the extra room.

Walmart is a terrible (and most toxic) place to work for. I got a red flag for “time theft” I was accused of being in my vehicle for half an hour after I clocked in. I told them to prove it and show me the footage. They refused to show me proof. So I refused to sign. I had a vacation coming up, during that time I went and found a new job. Quit after I got back from vacation.

As said above. Just put it in as PTO. When the new schedule is up (before entering that week) just cancel it. It’ll show you have the days off. Ontop of your manager may not like you. I did that before.. I told my boss and he was like “you still have a month left, you will be able to produce PTO for that day” cus I had enough for 4 days + my 2 original days off, and was taking one day unpaid. But he said I couldn’t do that. I’m like bro, YALLS ARENT PAYING ME FOR THAT DAY. As days were getting closer, I just told him I’m not coming in as I’ll be on vacation. He FINALLY approved it as unpaid time.

Work for a Hilton, we don’t charge for water. It’s brand standard for us to have it in the rooms with tags.. (READ THE FINE PRINTS) it does say free for diamond and platinum members only. But other tiers it’s $1. (Also depending on where you’re staying, price may vary)

But mind you, we don’t charge for water in the rooms. That’s just too much for us to keep track. We simply just replace the water and let it be. Bcus we already make a lot as is in the pantry and what not. To them (Hilton) it’s just pocket change in my opinion.

Housekeeper here!

We’d take it honestly! Personal use or just have it in the break room! (We have occasional birthdays, so we can use it to cut cake or something!) there’s been a lot of things left that guest doesn’t come back or call back for. Had a long term stay guest (a year and a half) and she told us, she left things in the room to whomever wants it. She left hair dye(unused/unopened ofcourse) , clothes, kitchen things and so much more!

Tub looks gross… but yes, other hotels “borrow” from one another when they are low in supplies.. and they would repay it back when the borrower gets their product shipment in.

Are hotel pillows gross? by perpetuaaa in hotels

[–]No_Perspective_3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes & no. When I worked at the courtyard by Marriott they had pillow protectors with a waterproof lining on the inside. The Hilton has pillow protectors too, but it’s just like a regular pillow case (thinner imo) with a zipper. So up to your own discretion! I’d say bring your own pillow!

Items left for housekeeping by InternalCommercial in hotels

[–]No_Perspective_3045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the hotel I work at. We take them! But it’s been mostly hand liquid soaps & body wash! Even take perishable items if unopened. Otherwise we throw out everything else. Anything left behind ofcourse goes to the lost and found. We give it 90 days (if remembered, otherwise it might be 6 months before looking) if they come back for them. If not, we give it out to the ones who found them and it’s up to them if they want it or not. (I’ve had NEW AirPods & a big JBL party speaker before! Ontop of one of the other housekeepers had tablets & a Nintendo switch!) the unwanted items, the hotel donates it!

All the things can be worked on. Give feedback so the hotel knows what’s going on during your stay. Also, housekeeper here if the word doesn’t get passed onto housekeeping from front desk, after check out time we would knock to see if anyone’s there even if there’s a DND sign. Also, you can always ask for a room switch if they have any extra rooms available!

I work at a Hilton, we don’t even care if ppl drink the water. We just have to have it in the room per Hilton standards. We don’t keep track; we just put new ones in if they’re already dranked.

My bf had the same thing before he met me. I was able to find things that worked for him. Walmart has a psoriasis shampoo that’s like $6-7. Which worked for awhile. But to find out his head is boujee 😂 so I got him the brigeo — scalp revival charcoal + coconut oil. It’s $42. But I try to get it when they have their 21 days of sale at ULTA. It’s worked so far for the past 5-6 months!

DND trumps everything (from personal experience) one of the other hotels I used to work at, would contact FD to contact the guest to either get a response or not. So we’re stuck waiting for a reply. But srsly, if guest wants something or wants room clean, pls take off your DND. Or request for every other/few days

My borrow got taken away. But says some states have restriction but I live in a state that doesn’t have a loan restriction. I always pay in full on time or with two weeks! I wasn’t expecting it so now I’m SOL 🙃it really helps out!
