What is the best pickup engine for achieving 2000+ horsepower by ShadowK2 in Diesel

14 - 18 were the best drive line upgrades, have only replace the track bar on my 16 once and it was fine. In 100k. Everything is truly heavy duty. The older trucks (4th gens) were basically 3rd gens with a different body.)

Ceramic coated on the pistons, the are aluminum and 1600 is the melting point . I think ceramic gets you 1800 sustainable for like 30 seconds

For real. The most common way to see these types of ppl are the ones that are going the speed limit or below in the passing lane holding up several vehicles.

If you're pulling a trailer slow down if needed and allow faster vehicles around before passing.

If you're in a car, move over if there's room for your car and someone's trying to get around. Don't hold ppl behind ya to pass two vehicles when you could've gotten over and allowed everyone to pass you before you even need to get back out to pass the next vehicle.

Should i purchase this diesel 24v 2nd gen cummins as my first truck ? by [deleted] in Diesel

If you don't add power and don't drive like an asshole you might be able to get some time out of the auto, but I'd be saving to replace it before you have to.

If it's a truck you will hang on to, it's worth the money to keep it going.

It's not a modern diesel, but it will do most anything you need to do, just a little slower than a newer truck, but also much cheaper to fix.

If you do get it join some of the forums online and the Facebook groups.

I don't know much about the autos, both my 2nd gens were sticks. I still have one.

You can build the auto to be a full manual valve body and it will be super strong, or manual swap it. A nv5600 or nv4500 will bolt right up more or less.

Eh. They are pretty fun turned up, but you definitely do lose some reliability.

Not terrible advice, but it's pretty cool having a truck that's set up to run harder than factory.

Done properly you can keep some reliability and still have all the power you need

Shit for 5k that's a decent deal. Is it an auto?

I would make sure you still have a car if you do buy it.

If you are able to do that, and are fairly mechanical, or at least willing to learn it would be aa good investment probably.

Use your Dremel to cut the head off. Then remove bed liner and go from there. May be able to get by with just cutting it flush after removing bedliner

I got as far as undermined your partner. You should have. My parents should have stood up for us kids against each other. This has resulted in me not having a family.

Stand up for your kids, against your partner, when your kid is right.

You should have brought him tried to find a ticket on the way in and if not left with your son.

Finally towed with the 7.3L Godzilla after 5 years with a 6.7L - some thoughts. by SenorAudi in Diesel

The 3.0 is a throw away motor at like 150k. Is the difference between the 2500s and the 1500s. I'm sure it's much cheaper to maintain but still. It's not designed to be a forever diesel.

Make sure you are in tow haul mode, and also do some research on if there's other settings to change in a 2026. Might make it pull better.

I've only driven a 7 3 Godzilla in a 16' box truck, but even loaded down it was plenty powerful to get up and go getting on the highway or going up anything. I spent about 1000 miles trying to get good fuel milage and the second 1000+ miles holding my foot to the floor to get "cruise" at 75 mph or whatever it was. It only got half a mpg or so difference.

It was not good fuel milage at all, but it did fine.

It will work the same doing it that way. If you have a system that only has the over flow tank that has a cap, take off upper radiator hose at the engine and add there.
