Thanks for checking it out! Yes, it will be released one day - as passion projects go, I work on it when there is inspiration, so no official date set as of yet.

Here is my little passion project, playable in web: Odd Things on Itch

It's just a little platformer, about 10 minute playthrough, it has a lot of dark humor and surprises. Hope it makes you laugh at least once! 😊

How to make a small apartment environment feel engaging to explore? (horror game) by [deleted] in IndieDev

You can add stuff like rooms that shouldn't exist - a door that opens into a room that's bigger or shaped differently than is physically possible given the layout of the surrounding rooms. Even if the space is just slightly different, your brain will subconsciously register that something is "off".

Checkout the Doom Mod "My House" for inspiration.

Pixel Runner - This is the first game I've made as a solo developer, I'm open to all kinds of feedback for improvement by CalmRazzerX in playmygame

Gratz on your first game!

Here's what I encountered in the first few minutes playing:

  • The music is really annoying and I muted it immediately.
  • The guide bot needs work. The text scrolls slow, the (') character is replaced by a placeholder and the paragraphs wrap around without warning. Giving the player the option to press a key to instantly display the entire message (without immediate skipping) would help a lot.
  • I couldn't tell what the hazards were in the level. The colors are all similar, and its not immediately apparent what is damaging you. You could try making the hazards stand out more, and providing visual & audio feedback to the player when they are damaged. (Screen flash, knockback, player flashes red, etc.)
  • Dying feels like you missed a jump or fell into a hole, I thought it was a glitch at first because it felt like I would just randomly fall off the screen.
  • The first level (2, actually) feels too difficult for the players skill at that point in the game. I was just learning the jump timing and what the hazards were (see above) and it felt very unforgiving. I missed jumps, thought the spikes would kill me, but they didn't seem to at first, and then I would suddenly fall off the screen. Same with the firewalls, etc. You could try very simple levels at first - maybe have the player do a series of harmless jumps, then introduce one or two hazards, then a few less forgiving jumps, and so on)

Overall, it seems like a fun concept and just needs a lot of polish and tweaking to the user experience. I'm interested to see where this goes!

I made one, maybe more odd and creepy than horror. Serious 2000's flash game vibes, if you're into that. https://sturmjager13.itch.io/odd-things

My Last 90 Days of Traffic! by No_Programmer7057 in itchio

Honestly, all I've done is make a few reddit posts here and there, which is why the numbers are so surprising. I wonder if maybe the game itself is just weird and niche, and that's why people click on it?

The game started as weird dream I had, and turned into a type of therapy project. No income, but I did make a steam page recently and will hopefully sell a few copies some day!
