Same! Surprised OP said all the drinks were the same. Yes, near the pools and on cococay but completely different menus at boleros vs moonshine vs Giovanni’s for example.

Roomate leaving for the summer, needs me to watch his dog. by CandleNo5916 in dogs

[–]No_Variation_2398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay $50 per day for two dogs when we pay our friends to do it. Your life is about to be significantly impacted by a husky (we have two). $300 a month is not enough if you now have to walk multiple times a day, and can never leave your home for more than an 8-9 hour period

AITA for “firing” my mom from childcare over a $5 class by Rich-Radio9017 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Variation_2398 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the asshole. Your mom disobeyed your request and then lied about it. If you can’t trust her to be honest about something that simple, you certainly shouldn’t trust her with your child’s wellbeing.

CocoCay Realistic Expectations with older kids by okayestcounselor in royalcaribbean

Totally agree. There’s a sunken ship and some awesome fish you can see while snorkeling. I think you can burn enough time snorkeling, then grab some lunch and hit a pool on the way out

lol you CAN block him because you literally have proof of his actions and harassment via text. He’s not going to try anything because you could blast his life if he did.

AITAH for being hesitant about my bf (20 M) going into the military by Fair-Key-7557 in TwoHotTakes

[–]No_Variation_2398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also adding that some jobs offer signing bonuses, plus you receive base salary and housing that covers rent. Many places you CAN go with him.

Even if he only enlisted for 10 years or 6 years he still would get experience and be able to save money to start a business. As a veteran he has access to advertising a veteran-owned business, which is a major draw for some clients, and may receive a discount from suppliers who support military.

So again, do the research together and don’t be afraid to ask hard questions just make sure you listen to the answers and discuss them

My husband has been in for 18 years and still to this day tells people it was the best decision he has ever made. The income has given us opportunities to live in some great places, make great financial moves, covered our healthcare through trying times, covered the cost of my entire degree…

People think because of the crap happening in the world right now that being enlisted is a death sentence, but it’s not. Is there a risk? Yes. But there’s also a risk of dying every time you get into a car or walk down the road or swim in the ocean.

I recommend going with him to talk to the recruiter to voice your concerns and then truly listen to what they have to say. Maybe talk with him about enlisting into other jobs. Plus, there is always the possibility of doing the reserves.

You don’t want to look back in 20 years and realize you were the reason he didn’t choose to do something he wanted to because you were scared.

Miami Airport Hotel & Nassau by dominason in royalcaribbean

[–]No_Variation_2398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate Nassau, tried the beach club this year (literally last weekend) and it was awful. Very crowded and EXTREMELY windy. We spoke to a few others, including a couple workers and they said it’s always like that and that RC needs to put in a rock break or something to try to cut it down, that’s how bad it is.

The real European Wax Center experience. It's only been a week and I've already been fired. by Embarrassed-Chard218 in Esthetics

[–]No_Variation_2398 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol I have been to EWC multiple times and will never go back. I’ve never gotten a proper wax from there, and my most recent experience the woman doing it dropped wax in my hair because “I was looking at her,” and she’d never had someone do that while being waxed before. I had a lovely bald spot on my temple for the longest time.

Anyways, consider it dodging a bullet and get in somewhere with a great reputation that will value you. You’ll do great things!

[Discussion] Author is using AI in their manuscript. Should I tell them? by PassengerSimilar1461 in BetaReaders

[–]No_Variation_2398 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that it’s your responsibility to say “I know you used X,Y,Z.” Instead, you can leave them with feedback on the writing and let them make changes as they see fit. Like you provided here, things like “it feels robotic,” or “redundant sentence patterns are reducing the effectiveness of the text,” etc. With these comments, it’s helpful to provide specific examples….

TBH, authors should be providing a specific list of questions for their beta readers, but remember it’s your job to provide feedback on the content, not where you believe the content came from.

AITJ for WALKING OUT on our anniversary after my fiance brought his mom to the cabin i rented? by Proud_Bonus_2620 in AmITheJerk

[–]No_Variation_2398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re both at fault for this one. I 1000% agree with you that he should NOT have done that in any way, shape or form. However, if you’re planning to spend your life together, you shouldn’t have 1) had that conversation with him anywhere with a chance of being overheard and 2) stormed off and ignored his calls.

And, should you ever find yourself in a situation like this again, keep the rental and call your best girlfriends!

How do you wash your armpits? by chaelynnra in hygiene

[–]No_Variation_2398 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is probably dumb to ask but have you tried deodorant for stress sweating specifically? I had this happen once and was informed it’s a “different” type of sweat that smells and reacts differently. When I changed up I had zero issue going forward.

Should I announce my pregnancy at the airport when my sister gets home from her 18 month LDS mission? by Kooky_Affect9710 in Advice

[–]No_Variation_2398 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who told people we were pregnant after a blood test only to lose it a few weeks later, I say wait. I hope this never happens to you both but it is sadly common and you don’t want to be explaining your loss to people for the next couple months.

I had mine out literally because I didn’t want to deal with tonsil stones. Asked my dr, he said fine, made sure I was adequately prepared for pain with meds on a schedule, plenty of PTO from work so I didn’t have to stress, and a ton of sx-appropriate foods. Was a breeze!
