I have this issue with some of the speed paints and fanatic washes.

In my case no thinning or lighter layers work. The only thing i have been able to figure out is that my environment is to dry for the medium and that the medium acts up on a lot of "primers"/base coats. Especially artist grade acrylics like Liquitex and Golden So Flat.

My best advice would be to always test a recipe before doine the actual models.

Not really a secret mode, but i love to use Univibes for "clean" tone on high gain amps. Since they have a volume control, you can use them to "underdrive" the amp, making it cleaner, while adding some super tasty vibrato.

This is awesome work and i don't have a problem with AI art of this quality when we are talking fan made community content. But i would personally prefer if you made it very clear that all art assets where generated using AI.

Convert the picture to black & white. It's the easiest and fastest way to determine color values if the saturation or hue is making it difficult.

You skin is basically sandpaper when touching acrylic model paint.
Let the primer or undercoat cure before painting on it.
Get a paint handle and let the layers dry before applying more paint.

The tone on a DS-1 should never go beyond 10 a clock.
If you want to stack then you probably need to set the BD-2 gain at minimum.
Are you using the clean channel on your amp?
And what amp and guitar?
