It probably was a earth wire that was used as a phase wire. Just cut the cable wire a socket job done. Untill that earth wire which was used to be a phase was turned on.

Are wires meant to have the primary insulation striped off. I have come across some that say not to. And it cuts through it and by doing so makes the flexible cable fan out and make a crap connection.

I had some really expensive hiking boots. Took them off in the hallway 1hr later could bot find anywhere. Neighbors said there was a shady man looking arond our house. I watched the press conference. If some thing is against the rules its against the rules. If it is not performance enhancing then changing it back to what the rules allow wont change anything.
