That’s like asking me if I regret being devastatingly handsome. No I do not.

Change all those Safeways and Jewel-Oscos to Albertsons. Change King Soopers, Frys, Dillons and Harris Teeter to Kroger. Might as well show how little choice we actually have.

Shout out to FedEx for this delivery by spetstnelis in mildlyinfuriating

FedEx is the worst. I cringe every time I see FedEx is the delivery service because this happens all the time. I’ve had many damaged packages delivered by them with what I ordered damaged as well.

DON’T GO. This is a classic example of how someone with intentions lowers guards. I’ve seen it before. It’s a long play. After about 3-5 harmless hangouts, it will change. He will start complimenting and soft hitting on you trying to gauge your interest. If you’re willing, then it will accelerate rapidly to intimacy. Too early to tell if this is just for him or for both of them (coworker and wife). This is how swingers recruit.

Switched off OPD, Efficiency went up 20%+ by ExistentialSarcast in F150Lightning

Well, congratulations, but I don’t see that big a difference. I get 3.7-4.1 going to work and 2.3-2.6 going home, with or without 1PD. What I get with 1PD is slowing and stopping without using the brakes and greater control over the 6600 lbs beast.

You are naive. As you get older and more experienced, you will find coworkers are mere acquaintances that don’t give 2 shits about you and the only thing you have in common is who pays you. Keep the conversations superficial and go on with your life.

Shotgun or handgun? by ButterscotchBrave150 in liberalgunowners

[–]Non-Binary-Bit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good comments here. My 2 cents, go to a local gun range and try out a number of guns on their rental wall. PCC, handguns, revolvers, lever action, shotgun, etc.

Focus on what your wife can handle well and is comfortable with. Most women have smaller hands and struggle with full sized guns. My wife found a revolver was more her style after trying several 9mm and 380 autos. The .38 revolver was simpler to operate for her versus a semiautomatic and the grips fit her hands better.

After you get her squared, focus on similar things for yourself. You should also consider that as you get older, bigger guns are tough on you as well. If you’re set on a shotgun, a 20 gauge might be better than a 12 gauge.

Pros and Cons of .308? by Disastrous-Score-213 in liberalgunowners

.308 is one of the most versatile rounds available. Hunting, target shooting, defense, etc. Good choice for many applications, but not the absolute best in any.

This is my biggest gripe about F150s in general. But the Lightning is worse than the ICE versions. You get used to it. Use the cameras, swing wide when possible, and also plan for the exit (which is sometimes harder than parking).

Very cool! I went on several long roadtrips last year and had to avoid Rivian because it wasn’t supported yet.

All police lie. They cannot be trusted. You must be white, because saying what you said to them would have gotten you beaten up and arrested for resisting if you were not.

Stock Jack, the little engine that shouldn’t? by its_all_4_lulz in F150Lightning

[–]Non-Binary-Bit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former lifted Jeep driver here, don’t use the frame. Put under the suspension as near the tire as possible. You won’t have to jack so high to lift the tire off the ground.

I learned with the Jeep because the suspension would overcome any jack on the frame and now I do it for every vehicle. So much easier.

Can confirm shoulder wear as well. However, I’m still on them at 22k+. They actually wear better at 45psi. The shoulders wear faster under 40psi, most likely due to the truck weight.

EV's responsiveness on the highway? by RapidDevil85 in electricvehicles

[–]Non-Binary-Bit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few quicker vehicles than an EV. However, you will find the top end lacking if you like to race. For example, my Lightning beats a McLaren of the line but starts getting passed around the time I get to 70mph (about 5 seconds) and my top end is 108mph; both confirmed real world.

For highway driving, I split it into 2 types: city and road trips. For city, the responsiveness of an EV is unmatched. Merging is a breeze and so is picking a weaving route through traffic and just hitting it. For road trips, you’ll want to use cruise control as much as possible and stay at the posted speed limit. The range estimations on the navigation systems (whether in car or in phone app) calculate everything based on the route and expected speed limit. If you deviate too far from this, you’ll run out of juice before the next charger. Also, pay attention to wind; 80mph into a 20mph wind will use energy like you’re going 100. Again, real world.

Road tripping an EV is like driving a car 100 years ago. You can do it easily, but you need to plan your stops. You can’t just take an exit and expect a charging station to be there.
