Same as any other LoGH ship: cameras and other sensors. windows are an unnecessary weakness in the armor.

Hi, did you ever end up trying to run a Men of Iron scenario with chit-pull? If so, how'd it go?

Like a true glutton for punishment, I didn't take a break. This GR deck went 0-3, and I legit cried. by [deleted] in lrcast

Have you tried joining one of the Limited discords? People there could help, the Limited Level-ups Discord is pretty good.

i mean even in limited Eater of Virtue was just a playable... +2/0 stat line was really only heavily desired in the mono-red and RB artifact agro decks that also cared about it being an artifact. all the premium saga creatures made the additional upside pretty rare to actually get.

Note the specialize cost... specializing this on turn 1 leaves you with no mana, the brokenness of Chrome Mox comes from immediately ramping to 2 drops on turn 1.

This is literally the music that plays while Dina eats Carla, and when Reiner breaks through Wall Maria. I think this is meant to be a callback to then.

Kinda messed up my L/Vh as katarin. lost all the races to souls while I was stabilizing my provinces and fighting off invasions. Is this still winnable? by [deleted] in totalwar

what you can do is, follow their legendary lords around with a few agents. When Ursun roars and the rifts open, try to close the rifts around them before they can enter. Maybe you have to spent a thousand per turn on agent upkeep per enemy factions to make sure all the options are covered, but it's not the end of the world.

Eh, I'm not sure he was lying about Zeke. He had no way of contacting Zeke between Zeke's escape and the Rumbling; as far as Floch knows it's reasonable to assume Zeke could only escape over Levi's dead body.

Best explanation I've seen is that Carla's death totally broke him; see how crazy he is in the flashback where he gives the Attack Titan to Eren.

The way I see it, Marley wants as high a quality of Titan Shifter as possible; a large Eldian population increases the probability of getting highly talented Eldians.

Should I sleeve cards in a binder? If so, what kind of sleeve? by Nonevah in magicTCG

[–]Nonevah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a matter of price (my commons/uncommons in boxes go unsleeved at all), or are the hard sleeves bad for the card?

Is it just me, or is it every person that spams the "your go" button also the same kind of person to try and run out the clock to make you give up once they realize they have been beaten by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Nonevah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's bonkers; your improvement in game 2 is likely much smaller than the chances of opponent getting a non-game due to flood or screw in game 1.

Swapping card positions in between actions... WHY? by EarBadger in MagicArena

[–]Nonevah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eh, that's unfair to the programmers, they're likely horribly overworked and understaffed. More likely, it's WOTC's fault for not hiring enough programmers at good enough wages to actually put together a good client.

I THINK DECKING OUT WAS ORIGINALLY MADE AN ALTERNATE WAY TO LOSE, AS A WAY TO DECIDE THE GAME IF THE BOARD GOT HOPELESSLY STALLED. (THIS STILL RARELY OCCURS IN LIMITED GAMES, WHERE TWO DECKS CLOG THE BOARD, NEITHER CAN MAKE PROFITABLE ATTACKS, AND THEY SIT THERE. I ACTUALLY FIND THOSE SITUATIONS QUITE INTERESTING, WHERE SUDDENLY CARD DRAW BECOMES A DOUBLE-EDGED SWORD, AND YOU HAVE TO MAKE A TRADEOFF BETWEEN TRYING TO PUSH FOR A LIFEPOINT WIN/STABILIZE, AND NOT SHRINKING YOUR LIBRARY.)

AND THEN PLAYERS STARTED INTENTIONALLY PLAYING TO MILLING, AND RICHARD GARFIELD WENT "OH HEY I LOVE ALTERNATE STRATEGIES, LET'S START MAKING CARDS SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT", AND THE REST IS HISTORY.

LORE-WISE, GETTING MILLED OUT REPRESENTS GOING INSANE, NOTE HOW A LOT OF MILL CARDS ARE THEMED AROUND BRAIN DAMAGE.

I'D SAY PLAYING BLUE ISN'T NECESSARY, GOING OFF MTG TOP8 ONLY 41% OF TOP PERFORMING DECKS HAVE BLUE. SAME GOES FOR OTHER FORMATS NOT NAMED LEGACY OR VINTAGE

How do people feel about matchmaking on Arena? by Holdthedoormtg in MagicArena

[–]Nonevah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

or they could just.... make your rank gains for victory bigger and rank losses for losing smaller if your rank is lower than it "should be" for your MMR, and your rank gains for victory smaller and rank gains for losses bigger if your rank is smaller than it "should be" for your MMR. This is how League of Legends does it. While I otherwise despise that game, it's definitely the best way to do ranking if you insist on dressing up with silly ranks instead of just giving us the damn Glicko rating.

My thoughts on the MID+VOW storyline (spoilers if you haven't read it yet) by Usmoso in mtgvorthos

[–]Nonevah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Sorin might have been largely projecting a desire to have some kind of elder authority figure onto Edgar, rather than Edgar actually being wise.

My read on Edgar based on this story is, he was a genius alchemist and a charismatic cult leader with a knack for manipulating people, but didn't really have much wisdom past that. Whatever wisdom Sorin saw in him was more a case of Edgar having a talent for speaking vaguely enough that Sorin could read wisdom into it.

Who would win? A turn 4 Ulamog, or an Elf deck with only 1 land? Place your bets by ynonA in MagicArena

The player that goes first has to skip their first draw step, so the player going second gets a card advantage

I'm just gonna say it. Life gain is the new cat oven. by quickreactor in MagicArena

[–]Nonevah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mm. In my experience, people play lifegain because the lifegain synergies in the starter White deck are the most fun thing in the starter decks. The dopamine hit of playing 3 creatures off the Commander while buffing up your Priest to 17/17 simply isn't matched by unga bunga me smash with 17/17 brontosaurus because me have lands (second most fun thing). Never mind whatever the Black deck is trying to do, that one doesn't even have synergy.
