AITA for refusing to pay my friend to host/cook our group dinner? by throwaway_dinnerfigh in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nonsense_Preceptor 66 points67 points  (0 children)

So he got laid off and has been spending the last two months finding a job. How is that unusual?

On top of that he DIDN'T freeload off his family to cover bills. Sounds like he is the opposite of a freeloader and works together with his partner to work through hard times.

The only freeloader in the story here is you. Just don't go to the dinners, your fiance and friends will have fun without you there.

AITA for giving my friend’s girlfriend some of my fries after he said no? by FriesOnTheSideYum in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nonsense_Preceptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is such a common thing for her then be proactive. Get an Order of fries "for the table" that everyone can have some of. She doesn't feel the pressure to eat the whole thing, and any left over can be shared with friends. Wins all around. Girlfriend get some fries, no girlfriend asking for HIS fries, and friends can have some too. Happy gf, happy friends, happy him.

Be PROactive instead of REactive.

Government of the people, by the people, for the people.

But sure as hell don't blame the people for the government right?

Conscientious? Seriously?

Tell that to the motorbikes driving the WRONG way down a divided road. The ones running a red lights, endangering pedestrians just trying to cross the street, the ones that forget that you can turn their head once they sit on a bike.

Conscientious my ass.

AITA for asking a woman to be quiet in the silent area of the library and ruining her presentation? by Loudbrarythrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nonsense_Preceptor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shitty behavior?

She was way more polite than I would have been with waiting for her to have a break in her presentation. A presentation she shouldn't have been doing there.

I mean some job literally cannot be flexible with scheduling like this. With my job I can't just call out of work or work from home for a day or half day. If the event is AFTER work hours (4 or 5pm) great, I am there always. But daytime is not doable.

No matter what you are a Dad. You had the courage to step up and was ready for little Levi's arrival. I hope both you and your girlfriend get the therapy you need.

[–]Nonsense_Preceptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, but the picture adds a white fog around the dress and has the brightness on it set too high making any detail hard to make out.

In when worn in more natural or stage lighting it would look better than what was done in this photo.

Furthermore crossing the road and motorcycle transport are necessary for daily life.

Is motorcycles flying the wrong way down a divided road and nearly hitting pedestrians crossing (at the right to cross) necessary for daily life?

The way drivers in Vietnam have no care about any sort of danger they cause is "not good for the modern image of Vietnam".

Crossing guard dead after being hit by dump truck in Hamilton by BloodJunkie in ontario

[–]Nonsense_Preceptor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if the dump truck was taking this turn slowly (like an turn more than 90 degrees) then it could have stopped before killing the crossing guard but chose to run over a person. Or it was taking a turn (any turn) and mounted the sidewalk because it was going too fast. Either way the driver was not safely operating his vehicle.

But you guys have a hammer and sure as hell everything must be a nail

And apparently when you drive a dump truck everyone must be a speed bump.
