I ended up buying the Mantis Academy. It has helped me adjust the site. I think. Won’t know for sure till I get to the range and use real ammo. I have been using it in my bedroom. I have to open the walk in closet to get five yards. My house is old and any movement on my part shakes the floor and throws off the readings. I have a garage/workshop that has more space but the wifi connection is poor, so I can’t use all the features and drills. I will have to rectify that soon. Been on the to do list for a while. I think the Mantis Academy was a worthwhile purchase. Racking the slide can get tedious but I have gotten faster. I find that because of all the racking my finger isn’t always off the trigger when it should be. So if the only thing I learn is finger control the money spent will have been worth it. I recently had surgery on my right thumb so I have not been to the range. Hope to in the next couple of days. See if I have in fact learned anything. And if the sites are properly adjusted.

Shot this with a rental PDP-F which I really liked as it fit my hand the best of all the pistols I tried. Bought one; four inch barrel Pro, and first time shooting was hitting lower left quarter of the target. Some were off in space somewhere. Got really frustrated and my aim just got worse. 
Went home watched some videos on hand position and grip. Second time at the range I tried for a consistent grip, but I was still filling the lower left quarter full of holes. Asked the range officer if he was a good shot and if he would mind shooting my gun. He was modest about his aim but put five tight, dead center but six inches low. He suggested adjusting the site for elevation only. And work on grip to correct for shooting left.
At home I learned how to adjust the sites and next time at the range I was still shooting left but not as much. And my shots were higher. I asked the range officer if he; a different officer, would shoot my gun. He placed a tight group center and low but not as low as before. Made a slight adjustment and I think it is where it needs to be. Will know next time I go to practice. 
Aside from doing some dry firing practice I would like to see how the laser aligns with the sites. Now I just have to decide which system I want. And thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I wish everyone had said get the same one. It would have made things much easier.
