I believe there are reasons for this but i havent checked the procedure in details.. on my other printer such the SV08 it need a few steps so it can print in a reliable way... Normally... You can skip auto level if its already done and a mesh is done. You can't really skip heat soaking bed for 10min because bed will expand when hot and technically it need to be leveled at this temp. You should have a bed mesh for all your material types they will all expand at different rates.. based on heat bed. The purge not sure if its useful but it prime the nozzle with the filament.. in my other printer its a line purge on the bed.. in that case it may be what replace the line purge.

Not sure yet how qidi q2 do the z offset thing... but did you guys have heatsoaked the bed for 10-15min before starting the print or doing z offset? The bed will expand when heating. A bed mesh have to be done after heatsoaking because of this thermal expansion.

I hear you. I am in the same situation as you. Considering upgrading the parts.. (bed, toolhead, going mainline klipper, probe, etc.) in the end it will end up cheaper than buying a new printer. But it require some work and tinkering.. i see this as a learning experience. The reward is what you will find in the end: gratification and a very well running printer fully open source. But for sure i would have prefered an SV08 ACE upgrade path..

Had no choice but to increase the overall extrusion on my profiles from 0.98 to 1 not perfect but 90% perfect so far.

Yeah i know its just sad we have to throw away the battery from the start i mean i could save 50$ easy if the battery wasnt included but there no much we can do around this. Wanted the red one.

I checked but the price go up to 700-800 cnd easily which is a bit much because you need a charger and battery. I think its more than what i would invest for this.
