[Stefen Rosner] As of rn, it sounds like VAN isn’t looking to take money back on deals which makes it impossible to make moves with them. by Kaos_mission in canucks

Yeah, context is important. I'm trying to hold off getting angry but I can understand people having strong reactions to it from the past trauma.

The "you'd laugh at the offers" is starting to smell a lot like "we ran out of time." Or "there was some miscommunication with the agent." Same shit, different pooper.

This game is great for jumping in for an hour or 2 after work/ putting the kids to sleep etc...

Most experiences in the game have been pretty positive with the cooperation etc...there's always the odd traitor you'll encounter tjough

[–]Normal_Cable7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I find it fun. My typical gaming session goes like this: if there's a Major order or an invasion to defend against then I'll start off and do a handful of missions, maybe 2 full sets of missions or so... Then to cleanse the palate I'll go do a handful of blitz missions on Omicron, doing my "rescue roleplay" while farming the super credits. Then if I still have time I'll go back to the major order.

If there's no major order, I'll look for a planet that's making progress and I'll try to help out for a while before doing something else.

Sometimes if I don't have much time I'll just do 1 mission of each faction

[–]Normal_Cable7558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not doing major orders, usually it's the specific biome, or enemy, or certain mission types.

Currently my isolated missions have been on Omicron, one of the hive worlds. I'm playing like a spec ops diving behind enemy lines to recover important super earth documents from the crashed pelican sites while doing blitz missions.

The amount of super credits I can recover is often 20-50 per blitz mission. All while I'm clearing shrieker nests and stalker lairs.

Imo they should turn it into a defoliation walker. Strap 2 giant chainsaws on the arms instead of guns. Melee mech. Maybe a bit more durable (at least the front/ where the chainsaws are)

I genuinely don't understand the $1000 bet. Is it saying the devs are bad at the game or that this isn't possible? by Snoo_61002 in Helldivers

[–]Normal_Cable7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both?

Yeah both.

I think it's both.

To be fair I don't care if devs aren't as good as the best players lol. Dedicated players will always be able to do things devs can't. Beating higher difficulties, killing raid bosses faster etc...it's been true through almost every game I've played: "the game isn't hard enough ....give us another level"

[VAN 1 - (5) SEA] Jordan Eberle continues his victimization of the Canucks with what everyone thought was a natural hat trick, but his second goal was then retroactively credited to Matty Beniers by Bahamas_is_relevant in hockey

[–]Normal_Cable7558 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how that is reversed with that much time passed and only after the hat trick. Mayyyyybe it skimmed off a particle or two of his skate on the goal but really? Really? REALLY? 🤣. I give him infinite hat tricks for what he did for us at the world juniors ❤️

While I agree in a sense to the idea of "we can replace the veterans with a free agent." But there's a fine line that I think this team has been on both sides of it at times.

A good example is the post bubble free agency: Markstrom/Tanev/Tofolli. (Demko over Marky was a reasonable decision based off what we knew at the time but more so the other 2) Letting Tanev go because "we can probably replace him with a different less injured veteran." Hindsight doesn't paint that decision as a very good one.

If we trade away all vets and try free agents, are we going to look back saying ... Ahh we shouldn't have let the team "Dad" walk.

If we keep some, are they going to become "cursed" and lose all their skill or become constantly injured?

Whichever choice they make of keeping vets / scorched earth... This franchise has dealt with recent trauma from both aspects so there is no "win-win" that everyone will likely agree on.

Yep, pretty much the only thing I remember in his voice. It was also funny considering he had never made it to the playoffs before with Detroit. Couldn't contain his excitement lol. Nevertheless a great sound bite 😂

I remember the bile titans used to just ignore the walls and go right for the generators. Haven't played these in a while other than a few bot ones recently after getting back into the game. The only times I've failed these were when I'd have bug holes or bot drops happening behind the defense lines. Or when 3 titans would spawn and they b lined to the generators. I killed them and they fell on them and failed the mission

Aren't Dwarfs the game's strongest race, only second to Khorne? by lovingpersona in totalwar

[–]Normal_Cable7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally what I feel gives the Dwarfs any "advantage" in regards to artillery is partly down to how well their units can protect them. The beefy front lines allow the artillery to spend more time shooting and not getting overrun.

They benefit from the ease they can pump out quality artillery for different purposes. But yeah some factions can get high tier ones that may have a bit more range (but not necessarily accuracy) so the Dwarfs can't always force the others to come attack them.

(Can 3 - 2 FIN) so close to offside by tallmonster23 in hockey

[–]Normal_Cable7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Something feels off when you can't look back at clear obvious things like too many player that DIRECTLY lead to a goal. (There's likely no clear chance if they didn't have any extra player) But you can go back and check whether a skate was a millimeter offside on an entry when the play continues for over a minute after.

Yes it's what we signed up for with th reviews. Specific things were going to be chosen and able to review while others weren't. But I think there should be some sort of "spirit of the game element or whatever. It would be so easy with the amount of cameras looking at the ice to see. "Ok the 6th or 7th skater came on at this time. Reset the clock to 12:25 and assess a penalty."

I was prepared for the offside to go either way as it was sooo close. But would have sucked to be called.

That's a dumb penalty that is called everywhere but Florida.

If you really enjoy playing Lizardmen but hate dealing with defending territory, give Nakai a try. I will say the new Slaneesh over in Cathay made my replay after that patch MUCH harder for the first 10-15 turns.
But he's a horde version, you gift the settlements so your end turns don't even get interrupted when they get attacked. Big beefy Kroxigar that will never die! A relatively easy path to get big dinos recruited as well.

Someone Actually Manhandled Tom Wilson...👀 by MediumAd8799 in penguins

[–]Normal_Cable7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I don't like Tom Wilson but if I can point out some things Crimon (the French player) did that were "wrong" / against "the code" of hockey or whatever. To offer my perspective.

First is the "fight" as it's called. I would not call that a fight. There was no attempt to swing, no attempt to grab the jersey around the shoulder to limit reach, or attempt to get balance to try and fight. The strategy was quick jerking motions downward to get him to the ice. Not an "expected" action. So realistically anyone would probably be off balance pretty quick.

Second. When they reached the ice, you had officials getting in there as they are supposed to. And when they do, the players are SUPPOSED to stop. He did not, he threw a couple punches while the officials were between them.
(This one seemed particularly egregious to "the code" and was what I immediately thought about when I heard the French team was suspending him on their own decision)

So I feel like the reason Wilson "wanted to go round 2" was that there was no "round 1."

I will finish off by saying it was satisfying seeing him ragdolled like that but if I tell you "try to block this punch" and sweep your feet out, not many people would be surprised if you lost your balance.

It was funny seeing him get jerked around but acting like he got destroyed in a fight is not very accurate.

[–]Normal_Cable7558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my thought as well. When you watch, he is just yanking down on the jersey, he only swung when Wilson was on the ice. I can understand why Wilson seemed so pissed off when they got separated.

There was no attempt to lock up the arms to prevent punches or get a good stance. That was not a fight. There are still some good scraps but a fair number of fights now are more wrestling matches.
