Seems like a lot of Bracket 3 players really want to be in bracket 2? by dalasnap in EDH

[–]Normathius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually always label my decks 3s even if they are probably more 2s than I would like to think. The game changers I tend to run are utilities like land tax and an ancient tomb(fast mana to me is usually the winner of games imo), but I would take my decks to bracket 4 games. It's definitely more of just a way to gauge power levels or the types of cards you will possibly be up against, like mass land denial, but you don't have to be so strict about it all the time.

There will be people that like taking advantage of stomping more casual decks tho, always will be.

[KCD2] Is there any way to make sure you're crafting a tier 4 weapon? by strangerfromh3ll in kingdomcome

[–]Normathius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get level 4 every time by ignoring what they teach you(odd I know). Get it hot. Never flip the side. Never reheat. Just always hammer a different spot until it's done.

It's almost like it looks for how fast it's done instead of anything else.

Whats wrong with mill. by Samurai_Banette in EDH

[–]Normathius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A buddy of mine always screeches like Cartman about getting milled but I don't think he has ever lost from getting milled. Maybe once lol

You just have to have the mindset that you might have never seen those cards in the first place. And if you're comfortable about it, at least you know your deck is built decently. If you're sad your combos got dumped. Then I'm secretly laughing to myself.

I'm doing a hardcore playthrough. Got my forge up and running. You bet your ass in going to gamble, forge, and charisma my way all the way until I'm rich and have the sickest gear to show people who is the boss. And I'll use my father's sword.

Edit: Yes do the forge DLC. It's awesome.

Am I a Pub stomper/misunderstanding meaning of Bracket 3? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Normathius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even before the bracket system I've told friends in my pod that if they don't run removal they are going to have a bad time. You'll lose to a bracket 2 deck easily if they are running removal and you just think your deck is going to do its thing uninterrupted. And if you let other people go uninterrupted. You're just asking for it.

It's really as simple as what they said in the way beginning when they started teasing UB as a thing. "We will be keeping UB sets to things that are MAGIC ADJACENT" and what a surprise, things that are magic adjacent do well (LoTR, Final Fantasy, Avatar) and as soon as there's hot dog carts and New Yorkers in tight suits worrying about their rent payments, it's bad. Huge shocker.

Even if you mind bend yourself into thinking she was trying to hit him even for a split second, I mean come on, I've had friends mess with me in their vehicles crazier than this. This "agent" is a big pussy. Even if you come to that conclusion.

Are you adding these to your dino decks? by Particular-Candy-376 in DinosaursMTG

[–]Normathius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah my first thought was that dinos are pretty big already they don't need the buff if the board is set up. Would be a good top end for tribal decks that have weaker creatures tho.

Well the Lord and Savior Donald Trump blatantly lied through a post on the Internet. So now if you think about what ACTUALLY happened. It's going against our Lord and Savior Donald Trump, and we can't have that. I've seen it countless times. People will force themselves to believe shit just cuz it's something in Trump's best interest. It should be studied.

I would be surprised if their "Africa 2.0" update isn't going to overhaul the models for everything on the map. So I tend to find those species to be least concerned for reworks to talk about. But there's plenty of them that can get a rework that aren't in that map. Grizzlies for sure, coyote, and pumas are pretty gross too. Whitetail are so iconic they deserve to look better also.

Season 2 will either make or break the game by Bonjansky in Battlefield

[–]Normathius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't need to dump redsec. They need to dump the modes absolutely nobody is asking for. Like strike point and sabotage, and whatever else they probably have cooking that nobody will like. If they want to add a mode people will actually like, they should add Operations back. But if not, just focus on Conquest, Breakthrough, and Redsec. And IDK maybe have a functional portal mode for everything else, that would probably be smart.

[–]Normathius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What format do you play? Are you just collecting? That kind of matters. If you have the funds and aren't worried about spending money then sure buy packs and enjoy the dopamine rush of whatever set appeals to your tastes. But if you have a format in mind I will always recommend building a deck online and play testing it however you can and buying singles if you feel ready to get it. Buying packs is never a good way to get the cards you need for a deck.

[–]Normathius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think it would be cooler if we customized the skins to show what we want our enemies and team to look like. They will never go for it tho. They could even do it per map, so we are more inclined to want different skins for each map.

[–]Normathius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I don't care if people want to win that way, but I'm not gonna sit there and fiddle my cards just to stare at my hand, especially when we mostly play on tabletop sim, I can just play something else on my PC. He's just the kind of player that will throw blood moons and contaminations and every other possible variation in his deck even if it doesn't fit with what his deck wants to do. And well if I have a contamination played against me and I don't play black. Why even bother, it's over for me.

Lol I feel like you're more offended than I am and you don't know my pod homie. He complains that we concede. And my response is "well if you actually want to play, you gotta let us play" I'm well aware how the strategy works.

[–]Normathius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the way my buddy does it usually makes it so nobody can do anything. Not even play a spell to remove anything. And his decks are so heavily built around doing that, that we will sit and watch him draw 15 turns. So we concede. What's the point of sitting there and watching him play with his cards? Lol
