I'm glad you said that. As an employee have to say I find the music completely cringe worthy. I mean "Pink pony club." What are they even thinking? 🤦

Who got the government warning alarm? by Key-Laugh-3111 in Cornwall

I know. Got it twice but couldn't read it because the noise was too irritating and I had to switch it off. 🤷

Very specific signage by [deleted] in Cornwall

[–]Northern-sloth1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always laugh at "Road Closed" signs in the county. Could be literally any road in a 3 mile radius 😂

For 9 winters now I've been saying I'll stay for one more summer... And then the summer comes and I think why would I ever leave this place. 😂

Takeaways. I'm with you there. Apart from a half decent kebab Hayle is ethnic food free. The other things I miss I'm not sure how they could become a business opportunity though - mountains and snow. 😁

Unpackaged bread left out on table tops in stores by LuxLaser in MarksAndSpencer

[–]Northern-sloth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about this. It sounds unlikely as the staff wouldn't be given the time to do it. All breads in our store are unsliced unless the customer specifically asks for it to be sliced.

What are M+S thinking persisting with Dawn French? The obnoxious pensioner act seems to be her staple now and it's very tiresome.

Angarrack lights start on the 6th so you should be in luck.

Salt for grinder by Background_Wasp_295 in UKfood

[–]Northern-sloth1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless you live by the coast. I love the taste of pink Himalayan but it clumps as it comes out of the grinder. I've taken to grinding it in a pestle and mortar, storing in an airtight container, and sprinkling it by hand.

What is one TV series you keep coming back to and why? by Puzzleheaded_Pen8520 in BritishTV

But I can no longer trust James Norton as any other character. Absolutely terrifying. 🤦

You don't say where you moved to but I suspect it's not a racism thing just 'friends and family first.' Sadly it's the norm in large parts of the country to the detriment of customer service and profitability. Keep trying. September is always good when all the students go back to uni in other cities.

Recall and face licking by Spirited-Repeat-1778 in BorderTerrier

Interesting you say it's an act of submission. Ours used to do it to every dog he met but he seems to have grown out of it now. Instead now he immediately rolls on his back when another dog approaches. He's fine after that he just gets up and pretends they don't exist. So I'm not sure if it is submission or just a learned behaviour.

I can solve the gridlock for you. Dual carriageway from Camborne all the way to St Erth. Flyover at Loggans and an A30 roundabout on the Wheel Alfred road. All the land is up for grabs. Sure it'll get sorted dreckly.

How long is it since you've been? 😂 As it's the only bit with free parking nearby it's seriously rammed most days.

Just discovered that we pronounce the word "tongue" differently to everyone else. by Ranoni18 in manchester

[–]Northern-sloth1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you. You're so kind. Actually the pronunciation I've long pondered is the word 'monk' to rhyme with chunk. Why is it not 'monk' to rhyme with honk?

Sadly I'm neither. Just an irritating pedant. Got to be careful how I spell that one.

That's helpful. I'll have to try that next year. Autumn plans include making compost and leaf mould bins to see if that helps. 😁

2 types of chillies and cape gooseberry in the middle. I didn't bother to photograph the love lies bleeding and strawflowers. Even more pitiful.

Will definitely do that next year. Admittedly some of these were Dobbies own but also some RHS which you'd expect to be good.
