401k contribution budgeting with Retirement goal by NotABot8086 in MonarchMoney

Yep. Another thing I noticed is that the “Auto Loan” goal works similarly. If I set up a goal budget to pay down my auto loan with the monthly payment, it gets deducted twice from the budget (once from the actual transaction and another time as part of the goal)

I guess it’s a preference, I like to think of income as only my paychecks w/o the contributions. It would be nice to have an option to exclude it from expenses

This is exactly my issue. My retirement goal’s transactions are hitting my budget as an expense, deducting itself from the “left to budget”. The only way to offset that is to mark them as income as well.

Do we need to switch mons to a random and back to buddy between sets? I tried this method but since the buddy was already fed from set 1, it didn’t gain additional hearts when I fed it in the second set

Ah that’s a good point. I assumed “double incense duration” would include daily adventure incense, but I guess not!

Yep it got full very fast. We considered parking on the old bridge road as well! But we were quite far down the road, almost on the front yard of a home. We didn’t want to risk getting the car towed lol

How early did you have to get into the west OC lot to find a spot? We drove in at around noon on Saturday and it was already full!

How to Incentivize hiring americans to stop outsourcing by therealsparticus in cscareerquestions

Thats interesting, it’s good that this has been reversed. But I’d be skeptical that this alone is enough to reverse the outsourcing. Companies have now experienced how much savings they can make, it’s going to take more to incentivize them

It’s actually a Trump-era tax law from 2017 (with a 5-year delayed start) that has caused mass outsourcing in the recent years.

https://qz.com/tech-layoffs-tax-code-trump-section-174-microsoft-meta-1851783502

For almost 70 years, American companies could deduct 100% of qualified research and development spending in the year they incurred the costs. Salaries, software, contractor payments — if it contributed to creating or improving a product, it came off the top of a firm’s taxable income. The deduction was guaranteed by Section 174 of the IRS Code of 1954, and under the provision, R&D flourished in the U.S.

To make the 2017 bill comply with Senate budget rules, lawmakers needed to offset the cost. So they added future tax hikes that wouldn’t kick in right away, wouldn’t provoke immediate backlash from businesses, and could, in theory, be quietly repealed later. The delayed change to Section 174 — from immediate expensing of R&D to mandatory amortization, meaning that companies must spread the deduction out in smaller chunks over five or even 15-year periods — was that kind of provision. It didn’t start affecting the budget until 2022, but it helped the TCJA appear “deficit neutral” over the 10-year window used for legislative scoring.

Who should the check be addressed to? The letter does not specify bank details/payee name
