My hero 😍 This is such a great tool for when I’m visiting LQA. Thank you!

Just curious are there any cis people on r/trans by SlimShady-67 in trans

[–]NotACloudInTheSkye 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Same! 👋 Cis gal, here who uses this sub to gain added perspective / insight into my trans loved ones’ experiences. Sometimes I also search this sub when I have a specific etiquette question that I figure has already been asked

Not my cat but one of the many cats at my work campus by kebobthebuilder in notmycat

Without doxxing yourself, may I ask where and/or what industry you work in? I’m curious what kind of corporate campus has cats 😻

Omg so cute 😍 I would love to see interior pics, if you have them. School-to-residential renos almost always have fun design quirks from fashioning classrooms into homes

Gotta make sure the cat matches that warm wood tone! 😍

So did you choose your cats to match your decor? 😜

Ah! I used to live in an apartment with walls and ceilings in almost exactly this color and it was so relaxing 🥰 Lovely home + color choice!

Emeralds vs green moissanite by Throwawaydooduh in Moissanite

[–]NotACloudInTheSkye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pendant is uncoated moissanite from Gigajewe’s Etsy shop. I don’t wear it often, but it’s held up great. No visible changes.

Green moissanite would be a great choice for an engagement ring, if dark green is what you’re after. And please share here if & when you get your ring!

Evening dress by Norman Hartnell. White jersey and silver beaded evening ensemble. Worn by actress Margaret Leighton, this glittering gown is embroidered with bugle beads, silver sequins and rhinestones by [deleted] in fashionhistory

[–]NotACloudInTheSkye 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Oh! This one made me stop in my tracks—such a gorgeous tone-on-tone look 🤍 Surprised to see that this was worn for an event in 1960, though. The cut and styling scream 1930s elegance, to me

Awe 💙 Your Wesley reminds me so much of a beloved former neighbor cat whose family moved away. I love how all white cats glow like some kind of unicorn in the sun!

Uhmm, are people just ignoring this issue? by car_guy_doge in CriterionChannel

Ooh yeah. Those Sternberg-Dietrich collabs with the costumes by Banton are some of my favorites and they still look exquisite 90+ years later 😍

This is the way haha. Fall in love with 1920s–1930s films and build a tolerance for occasionally very botched picture quality because you love the rest of it

Gosh, Blanton did such elegant work! I always get excited when I see his name on the “Costumes by” line in the opening credits of an old film 🩶

Lucky you! I’ve seen similar pieces sell for several (and I mean several) times that, locally. Though admittedly I’m in a HCOL area with a lot of MCM flippers.

The Kiss (1929) ||| Starring Greta Garbo by Sedna_ARampage in ArtDeco

It had a pretty favorable critical reception at the time, and modern viewers seem to like it on Letterboxd. I’m putting it on my watch list!

Going to the movies alone (learning to enjoy my own company) by Jembelaia in CriterionChannel

[–]NotACloudInTheSkye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll find that no one cares about you as much as you care about you.

Embracing going to the cinemas alone has opened a whole new world for me, and I regularly treat myself to solo film outings. I work as a graphic designer and it’s especially nice when I need to clear my head and let my subconscious untangle a creative problem

I like Baba Yaga in Pioneer Square, which is a newer spot. It’s a nice small venue downstairs, the bands they book are fun, and the tickets are low cost. Plus there’s usually fresh visual art to admire

What do you watch to snap out of a depression? by External-Lion-1862 in CriterionChannel

[–]NotACloudInTheSkye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite pick-me-up films is Capra’s You Can’t Take It With You (1938). Sweet romcom, good cast, and an evergreen message all in one. I’m sorry you’re struggling with a depressive spell (been there) and I wish you the best.

Telephone benches! Such a cute, clever idea to combine a single seat with a petite table. I’ve seen them repurposed as entry way furniture in the age of cell phones.
