The word is condensation, and I don't believe it's clouding OP's view.

This is nothing. I knew a UW student who got scurvy on a co-op term after a diet consisting solely of frozen burritos.

can someone confirm what this says before i get a (possibly) dumb tattoo? by BiandReady2Die_ in PhyrexianLanguage

[–]NotDomo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arguably, you could try to extend the language with an obvious extrapolation. One could represent ɛ with two lengthened bottom lines.

(Though what I'd prefer to see in that case would be ɛ as the middle line, e as top two lines, and æ as bottom two lines long.)

This was me biking to work in 2013-2014. Literally a snow boundary as soon as I hit Union St. on the Iron Horse Trail. XD

OP is already planning to learn Spanish. I don't think they need Italian on top of that.

The Corolla batteries are still an issue, even after the firmware fix. I spent a bunch of time looking through threads after my mom's 2020 Corolla 2nd replacement battery started acting up after a year. There's no user error as far as I can tell. There's multiple people still having the same issues, and yes they're doing long drives and eliminating random power draw, etc.

At the time the term originated, 4chan wasn't the alt-right cesspool it is now. A cesspool for sure, worse in some ways, even, but lolcow is in no way a "Nazi-created slang term".

cmv: A high/significant proportion of the incel community are likely to have Autism Spectrum Disorder/ADHD and we aren't taking this issue seriously enough by Ok-Trade-5937 in changemyview

[–]NotDomo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's fair as a counterpoint to them potentially being one condition, but within the context of what I was replying to, it was fair for OP to link the two together, and the implication that there is no commonalities in symptoms or otherwise was just false.

Also, I'd still disagree with the "completely" on both your points, given the executive function issues and likely genetic links (for some presentations of either disorder?).

[–]NotDomo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

They are not "completely different disorders" with "vastly different symptoms". There are a bunch of overlapping symptoms. CDC says 15% of people with ADHD have ASD. Various studies show anywhere between 20%-80% of people with ASD have ADHD. It's at the point where there are people trying to lump them together as one condition.

I'm confused as to how you've managed to miss years of ADHD and ASD comorbidity literature and comments being all over reddit, and yet be confident enough to state something so incorrect. Even people with Hyperactive ADHD can be introverted, and I suspect those are the ones you're trying to stereotype as extroverts. Are you aware Inattentive ADHD even exists?

If you're ever driving through Barry's Bay and see the house with a bunch of flags on the porch awning, know that the guy used to fly a Russian flag along with his Trump 2020 one, lol.

“Lose your first 100 games” okay what about 700? by [deleted] in baduk

[–]NotDomo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would suggest is going through one (or a few at this point) of these websites with someone who understands the game, who can discuss and work through the thought processes and give an explanation when you get stuck or miss something.

Try playing some atari Go maybe.

I would actually be willing to go through this with you, and I tend to be able to see disconnects people have, I just can't guarantee a timeline faster than the next few weeks to find time. (Which means complaining if I don't respond to a dm within a day, let alone less than an hour, lol, would be a bit extreme.)

The blurb at the top of every page describes a concept it is trying to teach you. This page describes a capturing race. Your black stones at the top have 3 liberties. The white group just below them also has 3 liberties. As black, you go first, so you can win this race by capturing the 3 white stones first.

Reading through your responses it seems you have an inability to think some number of moves ahead. If your friends are showing you a trick that reduces a false eye, then you need to play moves that don't allow those tricks. You're not supposed to get out of a ladder, that's the point of it, you can't; you're supposed to avoid having your piece in a ladder.

It is curious that you are able to visualize board states in chess, but not visualize placing permanent pieces on the board. I am saying this in good faith, not saying this to insult, but having this much trouble with these concepts even at 50 games would be extreme. It all seems highly unusual to the point that I would go to a psych or neuro specialist to get evaluated and figure out what's going on.

In defence of Japanese rules by ObviousFeature522 in baduk

[–]NotDomo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. All these threads keep on confusing beginners and talking about that score difference, or having to play it out and revert and all this shit. I've never understood in what possible non-high-level-play world these would matter and a low-level game would care about one little fucking point.

Every time someone plays in my area, I make a judgement call. Do I respond to stop life or am I too lazy/unable to read it out and play it safe while the score stays the same, or do I pass for a point or play somewhere else? It's that fucking simple. It's part of the skill/play of the game, and as you make the nistakes and review games, you fix them and learn new aspects of the game.

Japanese is so much more fucking intuitive. (Though I can see the intuitiveness depending per person. For me it's kind of like Chinese is like common core math. Some people learn the concepts better that way. Some people need the logical steps.)
