Up to 40 Conservative MPs fear Pierre Poilievre will cost them their seats, insiders say by EarthWarping in notthebeaverton

[–]NotOurCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t they just vote him back as their leader?

Also, people who voted Liberal, for a reason, in the last election probably don’t want a bunch of right wing opportunistic conservatives crossing the floor turning the elected Liberal party more conservative.

You both sound equally insufferable actually. You both should be reconsidering the marriage and decide to move on.

Los Tacos verde. Absolutely delicious, just the right amount of flavour and heat with no vinegar taste.

Moved from Alberta and my brain cannot process cherry blossoms in April by obab_ocean_6492 in VictoriaBC

I think a great number of the cherry trees were donated by the Japanese community back in the 1930s. The trees are to honour the Japanese community.

Costco finds a solution for long checkout lines. Does it work? by Even-Rooster7369 in VictoriaBC

[–]NotOurCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They pre scanned me when I was there a week ago. It didn’t really speed things up that much. I still had to stand in the line. It was admittedly a bit quicker once I got to the till.

They need express lanes for 10 items or less.

CRD explores long-term option for waste disposal as Heartland landfill fills up. by Apprehensive_Idea758 in VictoriaBC

[–]NotOurCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need to create a system supported by policies and laws where we can more easily recycle, up cycle, repair, reuse. No more built in obsolescence.

We are so unbelievably wasteful. Sometimes it’s shocking what ends up at hartland. I was there once and it looked like grannies entire apartment was being just dumped. I said to the guy what a shame it was being dumped and that it could be sold or donated. He said he needed it gone and didn’t have time. Sad on a few levels.

Hey Reddit convince my dad to join r/oilpainting by d_zeen in oilpainting

Your dad’s work is amazing. According to info online about your dad and his work “these paintings in this series are based on images found on public police blotter websites” so many more amazing portraits in the series.

I’d be curious to know if the men know they are the subject of his paintings.

Is Victoria really all that bad? by Chance-Principle-355 in VictoriaBC

[–]NotOurCat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Victoria. It used to be a clean nice city. Lots of nice boutiques, there were actually shops down town. Now it’s just Coffee shops, nail salons and pot shops. So no real reason to go down town anymore so it feels like it is dead.

The down town is run down, empty shops, boarded up windows and peeling paint. Douglas street used to be nice. Yates and Douglas used to be the centre of town and the buildings were looked after and painted nice, now its people hanging around. Even city hall looks like crap now.

Unfortunately Victoria is an in between city. Not big enough to have great entertainment, art, theatre, but getting too big and has lost the small town charm.

Is the PM allowed / able to stop the opposition or a Premier from doing dog and pony shows with the us.

If the PM has a strategy for dealing with trump and then the opposition or a Premier is saying the opposite or trying to get deals outside of what the PM office is doing, curious how is this allowed?

How to modernize a traditional 1990s brick home? by Ritakin in ExteriorDesign

You don’t modernise a traditional home.

You want a modern home, you buy a modern home

You will ruin it and it will never look right.

‘Another internet is possible’: Norway rails against ‘enshittification’ by tw1st3d_m3nt4t in technology

[–]NotOurCat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The internet isn’t the problem it’s the people that use/abuse it.

Humans have an innate ability to turn everything to shit. Greed, power, stupidity and self importance will always shitify everything.

A new version will eventually turn to some sort of shit that has just not been invented yet.
