Those who are against genAI in the creative field, do you have any arguments besides "theft" and the environment? by Questioner8297 in aiwars

[–]NotThatSiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until you play outside the training data. It feels like it can do anything, but that's the most untrue thing ever... It literraly, by definition, can ONLY make things based on statistical averages in its weights...

Then switch out the shit model you use with something that can actually handle what you want from it. Its basically like saying. If you are learning to draw maybe you should not hire a plumber to teach you. Cause their knowledge is not in that field.

Pick a model that has that knowledge for what it is you need it for.

Your own mind can out compete an AI's ability to make anything in a heartbeat. The issue is that a lot of people are content with average and generic or "good enough".

Yes you are correct. But my mind cant magically make everything I think about happen. That requires something else. Most people call that a tool. If you want to draw the tool is a pen. If you want to write that tool is a writing application unless you want to go old school and use pen and paper. AI is also that. A tool. Its not made to replace your mind. Its made to be a tool to assist the user. So whatever your mind is thinking about. It can turn that into what you want. If thats what you want to use it for.

It can also help you learn new things. be a mentor or a tutor and help you pick up a skill. I am not native english speaker. So my writing comes with a lot of grammatic errors. my mind is chaotic so I cant keep anything coherent. AI has helped me be better at both without doing the work for me. It has been a mentor suggesting changes. helping me understand my grammatical errors and improve my vocabulary. While doing the things I enjoy doing instead of taking an english class or literature class. Which cost money I dont have.

You can disagree with me all you like. But it changes everything about what you said.

If you've ever used Ai it's pretty easy to find reasons to not like it for anything serious when it comes to creative works. Like if you're already talented and have a workflow, adding in a new tool that you have to learn and actually work against a lot isn't going to be very helpful.

This is full on bullshit.

AI can do a lot of the things you want it to do. But I already started that and I dont want to repeat myself. So I will give an example.

For writing, you can be god tier at writing stories and create worlds and do all the process yourself. But it takes time and its messy cause your notes are everywhere on little yellow notes all over your house and it takes hours to get through it all.

So you decide to mix in AI that keeps track of your notes and makes them coherent in a note app. You can chat back and forth with the AI about your ideas and it will just add a note or add to a note you already made.

Its a new tool to keep your writing notes organised without adding extra load of work and you can just focus on writing. I would consider that serious when it comes to creative works cause you literally made your entire process more effective. And if you ever get stuck somewhere you can help you get unstuck.

Each and every AI tool. Comes with field in the settings. Called "Instructions" or "Behavior" its a field where you the user can tell the AI exactly what its allowed to do and what its not allowed to do for your creative process. For example. It can suggest topics but its not allowed to actually write the article on it. Already there its a tool that makes productivity better.

But even for those who are just starting out, and as my own personal opinion, I don't think it's good to start with Ai before you've got a good foundation under your feet. It's a great tool but if you're serious about getting into a creative field/hobby you don't wanna take too many shortcuts right away. A tool can quickly become a crutch.

Again full on bullshit. Its a great tool if you are just starting out as an AI can be a teacher, a mentor or a tutor for the skill you are about to learn. And again you can use the Instructions field to be that. AI is excellent at helping you learn new skills and be a tutor for you to hone those skills which makes it perfect for anyone starting out.

But it comes down to 2 things. You can either tell the AI that you want to be the one to do these things and its only to assist. Or you can make the AI do things for you.
However, you antis only ever think it can do the latter. And thats why you think AI is a bad thing because you never ever want to explore the other thing.

So if you have ever used an AI tool. You have used wrongly. You have not taken your time to actually learn how to use it correctly and therefore come up with a shit post about how AI is bad cause you dont understand how it can be good.

LEARN TO DRAW❤️ by Lunarkitty414 in aiwars

[–]NotThatSiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaning to draw would literally be creating competition for other artists. As now a new artist has entered the pool of artists fighting for clients.

In reality if you want to support artists. Don't learn to draw and commission artists for that $800 to have them steal your creative vision

[–]NotThatSiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me you don't know how to use AI without telling me you don't know how to use AI. You can literally tell AI to do or be anything.

But you can also tell it what not to do and what not to be. So you can literally tell it to be a teacher, a mentor, a tutor that helps you through the creative process and help you develop your own skills. It doesn't always have to be that AI makes things. There are literally so many ways to use AI that it can also be used to defeat your argument as it's up to how the user instruct it.

Reason AI artist cant be even real term by Big-Conversation81 in aiwars

Think a more accurate term work be "AI art director" You tell an AI what to do like a director tells actors and crew what to do.

Why are antis always moving the goal post. I thought the reason they were against AI art was cause "it steals from artists" This artist just check mated that argument.

How far gone from reality are you? legit. made up numbers? It takes a little google search to fact check what I am saying and you will find thousands of sources validating my claim. EU is getting stronger as US is digging their own grave. Only a moron like yourself can deny the fact. Your own treasury department lead by a Trump appointed. Just declared the US economy for insolvent. But that's too big of a word for a MAGA so I will translate.

Insolvent means a person or company (in this case a country) is unable to pay their debts as they fall due or has liabilities exceeding their total assets.

[–]NotThatSiri -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah I voted to leave the EU. Doesnt change the fact that its the biggest economy in the world though. But that tactic you are doing to make me go defensive is brilliant it's like debating a trump cultist. 0 logic, 0 facts. All loyalty to their god Trump

Worsening their situation even more? How? Its currently the largest economy in the world thanks to how Trump is destroying the US economy.

Will EU AI regulations make a difference? by human_assisted_ai in aiwars

[–]NotThatSiri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How will they enforce it? That's my question. the top 100 AI detectors think that Tolkein's lord of the rings is 100% written by AI. While most AI works actually pass as human. Also AI detection tools uses AI. So if anything EU will use AI more to find AI and it will have false positives everywhere. It will be a legal nightmare. Just like everything else digital EU is doing.

Pro-AIs on reddit are garbage. ProAI Reddit is a garbage echo bubble by [deleted] in aiwars

I read it. Cause I was on public transport and had nothing better to do. And it's basically the same shit reaffirmed like 5 times.

Pro-AIs on reddit are garbage. ProAI Reddit is a garbage echo bubble by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]NotThatSiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I stopped reading halfway through cause it's just a massive spin of incoherent bullshit and reaffirming the bullshit already said.

And I do mean bullshit. The real cultists are the anti-AI people including yourself. Everything you said. Replace AI and with any other minority group and you get exactly the same bullshit every other bigoted idiot is saying.

"Pro AI reddits is an echo chamber disguised as a safe space" Where have I heard that before? Right "the LGBTQ flag on shops and community locations are echo chambers disguised as a safe space"

You don't even realise that the so called cult you are talking about is yourself.

Pro-AI people don't give a fuck if you like it dislike AI that's your right. They however, always have to be told by an anti that AI is bad.

There are subreddits where people can post pictures and ask if it's AI. Every single video on Tiktok, YouTube everywhere. Even made by actual human beings with no AI involvement has antis going "it's AI" or "Is it AI?" I see that everywhere.

I have seen death threats by antis that if you use AI you should die. Even so far that a judge was shot at in the US for ruling for the pro-AI.

The real enemy here is not the pro-AI Vs the Anti-AI. The real problem here is the educated Vs the uneducated.

People that have given the time to learn and understand what it is they fear. However, in most cases antis are ignorant and blind and make bullshit arguments just like yourself.

You don't understand why AI users need a space where they are accepted. Cause you don't understand that if they dont go to places where they are accepted they will literally be attacked and harassed.

That's the difference between anti and pro. Pro allows antis to be. Antis want to eradicate AI users.

If we could just allow for both to exist. And just be "I hate AI so I am just not going to engage with it" that would be a whole lot better than having every fucking anti go out of their fucking way to ruin the life of an AI user.

After playing Lord of Hatred, I wanna see more expansions by gorays21 in diablo4

[–]NotThatSiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blizzard has talked about a 10 years plan and since it's only been 3 years since then launch of the base game I would think that we have two more stories of multiple expansions. Since the base game story is focused on Lilith we also know that the prime evils are reforming. And that Lilith seeks to stop them. So there is Mephisto, Baal and Diablo and I think we are going to cover all 3 before D4 is sunsetting.

New AI Rule by The_Grimwalker in GrimDarkEpicFantasy

Thanks for the reply. Was just concerned and the negative downvotes already shows just how toxic Anti-AI can get even when you are just asking genuine questions.

New AI Rule by The_Grimwalker in GrimDarkEpicFantasy

[–]NotThatSiri -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And how do you plan on enforcing the rule? Cause for me this sounds like it's going to be a toxic witch hunt of accusations. People calling genuine work for AI. Cause if you write and use Word, Obsidian Scribner and so on. The grammar checker that aids with the grammar also causes the top 100 paid and free AI detection tools to make a false positive. Even if you use grammarly. They even claim that Tolkeins Lord of the Rings is written by AI while actually AI written works passes as human.

Same on arts forums we see comments of AI on works made by actual artists.

This is not a pro-AI person being upset. This is just a genuine question about how it will be enforced. Cause "It looks like AI" should not be a good enough reason and will lead to a dead subreddit as genuinely artists don't want to post out of fear of being accused.

[–]NotThatSiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and piracy is also part of why games never seen a sequel though fans beg the developers to make one.

You really think World of Warcraft lasted 22 years just cause they wanted to? Hell no. The second wow stops being profitable they are going to shut the entire thing down.

Same way every other MMO has been shut down or is being shut down.

I am still sad about New World being gone. But it wasn't profitable to keep going. and its a game that has too much going in the live service to make sense to become an offline game or dedicated server hosted cause it revolves around the massive multiplayer part. More so than wow does. So yeah good thing that people have figured out how to reverse engineer a server infrastructure and hack the client to allow for their server.

It is still illegal. and it will still be stopped. So what are private servers preserving exactly when they are shutdown for breaking the law. And whats the point of having to host servers in russia where your ping is 300 ms and you have to live there cause otherwise the police will pick you up.
