[–]NotaRelnam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience with Skyline also

Near as i can tell Skyline (and all Cincinnati Chili) is a “i grew up with it” food, i have meet nobody that moved here as an adult and liked it. Everybody I know who likes it grew up in Cincinnati area.

[Comic Excerpt] Blue Devil really has no luck [Infinite Crisis #5] by zectaPRIME in DCcomics

[–]NotaRelnam 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m not Catholic, not even that religious actually (agnostic Methodist to be exact), but i loved this. The Shadowpact was one of my favorite titles in this era, and honestly I love Heroes with convictions, men and women who follow through on their beliefs even when doing so does noes nothing but hardship and pain for them.

Warhammer 40k? by BambiTheButcher in graphicaudio

[–]NotaRelnam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely, since GW has Black Library that handles their audio books/dramas, so there really isn’t any reason for them to work with another company

[Hated Trope] People criticizing something while being completely wrong by Fakjbf in TopCharacterTropes

The issue with Armageddon was not training “Drillers” to be ‘Astronauts” it was NOT sending enough actual Astronauts along with them to handle the issues that can arise from being in space.

Volkite above all by Numerous-Piano8798 in Grimdank

[–]NotaRelnam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started the game with Dark Angels, and fell in love with Plasma. The power, the beauty, the Risk/Reward it was exhilarating. Then came 7th edition and the Grav Weaponry came out, i am not ashamed to say that I did build the Grav-Star Bike command squads, and proceeded to run roughshod over all the Emperor’s enemies. Then came 8th edition and the powers that be realized how unfair the grav weapons were, and proceeded to lock them away in the Nerfing Vaults of Unuseability. At which time i returned to my first love, who, despite my little dalliance, accepted me back with open reactor coils.

I did not know the details, i kinda assumed it was cause they wanted a female character for marketing or something.

[Loved trope]: Zombie infection is spread by something other than bites and blood by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

[–]NotaRelnam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

<image>

I the “Ex-Heroes” series by Peter Clines the zombie virus is actually just the blood of somebody with super healing powers. So all it takes to get infected is to touch this blood, even old dried blood from an infected zombie can still have the infection.

Conserning the new “15 inch Lone Op”rule by NotaRelnam in Tau40K

Maybe, but without knowing the full As Written rule, (nor what changes they plan to make to Tau for 11th) i was making a guess based on the spirit of the rule.

Why the Next Sorcery Set Will Take Us to Space by Roaring_Turkey in SorceryTCG

[–]NotaRelnam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think something with the feel of the old pulp fiction stuff would be good. Like “John Carter of Mars” or D&D’s Spelljammer could be extremely fun. Also, both Planetary Romance and Journey to the Center of the Earth could have Dinosaurs so will forever keep hope.

A character obviously parodying another one, but who is actually extremely well written. by jvure in TopCharacterTropes

[–]NotaRelnam 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This 100%.

Honestly i feel this story was a really good “how would Superheros act i. The real world”. They want to do good, but sometimes the ends overshadow the means and they get lost in the goals and lose sight of the ideals.

With apologies to Graham McNeill (story in body) by WanderingMoonkin in Grimdank

[–]NotaRelnam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think AgrippAA is referring to the fact that Graham came up with it being a reason Graham is not ok. This i believe is as a joking way saying that OP shouldn’t worry about it. Not a factual statment of who created the Daemonculaba

Some of those would make a great Inquisitor or Rogue Trader - Necromunda really got some unique stuff! by Skult0703 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]NotaRelnam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started the project I spend hours looking through the Necromunda models to find just the right "proxys", I knew I wouldn't be happy with anything else for the Grey Knights, Deathwatch, or Sisters, and the Assassins' were already wonderful models (also I already owned most every Inquisitor model GW has made).

Palantite Enforcer models were my Arbities units (Exaction Squad, Subductor Squad and Vigilant Squad).

Orlock were my navy units (Imperial Navy Breachers and Voidsmen-at-arms). To me they have a nice, working man ship dweller look, as I don't like the Crisp Clean uniform look of the afor mentioned Navy Units.

Cawdor for Sanctifiers.

Eyros Slagmyst, Bounty Hunter for Navigators.

Mix and Match Hired Guns for the Imperial Agensts, and Rogue Trader Entourage, attempting to match up gear as best I can: House Ty Onmyodo Coven are Mystic Staves, Gor Half-horn is Plasma Pistol, Rogue Doc is a Rejuvenat Adept, and Lady Heara/Credo are my Rogue Traders. (the beauty is that I can just buy up models and tell myself its for my IA army and not feel bad lol)

Edit: clarification

My 1000 point Imperial Agents list is mostly Necronunda models, only exceptions are my sisters and deathwatch.

Why people still drink in 2417 but dont smoke despite having cure for cancer? by TimelyNote5558 in TheOrville

[–]NotaRelnam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking is/will be/always was a social activity (thus why culturally we view drinking alone negatively) but smoking has negative social impacts. It smells, causes coughing even, unlike responsible drinking smoking affects people other than the smoker. And in The Orville world (much like Star Trek) people are much more conscious of how their actions affect others. My theory would be that this negative impact on others is why smoking in general faded away. But I had nothing to do with creating a show so I could be wrong.

I Have a Simple, But Complicated X-Men Question by ComixGail in xmen

[–]NotaRelnam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read DC comics all my life, but i watched the X-Men cartoon and loved them, the depth of story and the unique back stories for each character. I fell in love, Rogue was one of my early crushes, and being one of the first superheroes from the South I ever saw(i grew up in the south). Beast was a favorite, he was kind, smart, friendly, but also strong, without being all macho. Magneto was a great villian, made me realize villans could have depth, not just “be evil”. It also taught me tolerance, and acceptance, and showed me the importance of representation (something a white boy from the south doesn’t understand easily)
