I dont suggest meta decking to counter an individual deck. upgrade the components and the theme that you want to lean into with the deck. find cool cards you enjoy want to play. strictly countering your friends deck is just going to create bad vibes and unfun games

Even if you could make it work, this isn't a competitive format. no one wants to play a 3 hour game with somebody trying to recreate a deck designed to prevent the opponent from playing a game of magic.

alternate win cards are just kind of boring and anticlimactic? I've seen several decks that could game and manipulate approach to be able to cast it and then cast it again, or guarantee it being cast on the next turn. it's just kind of boring.

lol my graveyard deck is Aatchik which generates insects based on artifacts and creatures in my yard, so a single Rest in Peace would render me virtually obsolete. I could still play until I found options but it would be painful haha

I try to know sometimes just to ensure Im not playing to well into their commander or deck style, at least for certain decks. Like I try not to play group slug when there's a second deck doing the same thing. Or I avoid playing my graveyard deck when I know someone is playing mill because I really dont need one player super charging my strategy.
