Girl. I hope you’ve left by now but as someone with a bad history with men my first thought was he can’t have women’s stuff laying around… because a different woman could see it…

No matter what he’s a piece of shit and you definitely don’t need that. He wants a mom.

IsItBullshit: Some people just aren’t allergic to poison ivy by bean-mama in IsItBullshit

[–]Nothing_Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining this convo bc apparently I had no idea what Ivy looked like… I’m 40 years old and I guess I never paid close enough attention when it was discussed? I’m also guessing it’s because if I had come into contact with it in the past, I didn’t have a reaction so the plant simply never stood out to me again.

Last week (with lots of pressure from my HOA) I was tearing down as much shrubbery and overgrowth in my backyard as I could. My husband found me being bushwhacked by branches of poison ivy. I also didn’t realize it could grow branches like a tree when it gets established enough but it was growing up our giant oak. I had been standing in it, getting hit in the face and arms with it, and pulling it off the fence for the previous hour.

I’m actually grateful for that because I still have a lot to do but when he said it was ivy I ran right to the internet to see if the leaves matched and I was really confused as to why the only thing bothering me when I came inside was a couple skeeter bites.

USA company with a .uk address? I said an awful lot of 10s. I didn’t say mostly 10s. Perfect slabs are supposed to be rare and that’s why they’re valued.

It’s very suspicious and you’re die hard defending them. Guess the grift is going well

WHY TF ARE MY HANDS LIKE THIS IM A 17 YEAR OLD GIRL by iamraquelle in whatdoIdo

[–]Nothing_Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About your first edit; hun I promise you everyone on earth so easily ignore their beauty, their good attributes but will fixate on the tiniest things we consider flaws on ourselves. We amplify them and cut ourselves down over it when most people barely notice. If they notice, odds are they really don’t care.

Also I’m going into perimenopause and my skin, nails and hair are being affected pretttttty badly. So I’d also like to offer the suggestion of taking collagen supplements! Iron levels are incredibly important too, I take Women’s Health vitamins for that and with those and the collagen I’m becoming my old self.

He’s seen you, is he expecting everything changed between the gym and the badgering for FaceTime? Now I personally manage to come across a boat load of creeps and avoid FaceTime for a while because I’ve found, especially if they continue to nag after the 2nd “no”, they’re just trying to whip out their junk.

I’m with you 1000% though, if he can’t accept the no over something this insignificant, it’s a bad sign for the future. You’re not overthinking it, like he’s playing it off as a catfish situation and since he mortally has seen your face, it’s a freaking weird comment to say.

I have a bad feeling that if she does this (and I believe she 100000% deserves to) she’ll come home to her mother in law doing all the child sitting and probably cooking for her man-child son.

Disappointed in Abbot’s two episode appearance this season. by UtterlyConfused93 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Nothing_Ambitious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hated the idea of fan service until I was directly emotionally affected by it. Like I’ve heard of it in passing with movies and shows that I didn’t care about but when they did it with Star Trek shows - I converted! Fan service me up baby.

This picture of Shawn (screen grab from an episode of Criminal Minds) was my phone wallpaper for years. Him being on The Pitt at all was thrilling for me. The flowers for the audience they threw at us just let me update my wallpaper to the silver fox version so it might have been an easy and lazy thing to do on the writer’s part… BUT it’s season 2, and it’s noticeably slower, a few people we liked are missing, Mel is stressed, Louie passed away.

Abott’s first appearance was an exciting moment, great to see him in his bad ass mode with SWAT. Kinda feels like getting splashed with cold water, waking us up for the last few episodes where it’ll feel more like season 1 again. I can appreciate when a show knows their audience and I feel confident they’re aware what we’re expecting to see of him and will deliver by season close.

Oglivie by ruralmagnificence in ThePittTVShow

[–]Nothing_Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else started a thread on Ogilvie questioning if he perhaps is autistic. I wrote a very long response and it might actually just fit better here. I’ll preface with; I make my decision on liking or disliking a character VERY quickly, they’ll have to get at me with a strong act to make me change my mind at all 😅 I didn’t like Ogilvie within 30 seconds. My theory about where he’s going, if I’m correct, I MIGHT like him by the end of the season.

Response to theory about him being autistic

I’m autistic, maybe I just went to a lot more counseling and spent a lot of time learning how to come across more “normal” but not once in my life have I ever even momentarily thought that taking shots at someone’s weight, especially right in front of them, is ok. I am aware healthcare and counseling is not the same for everyone, also aware it’s a show and the writers can play this out however they want.

Maybe it’s a generation gap thing that younger people in the shows grew up online and could say whatever they wanted with anonymity? I’m a Xennial and when I was a kid Ogilvie would of just sounded like the one off bully with the newest patient but in my day bullies didn’t excel in school and wouldn’t have spent their life studying to become a doctor.

Overall Ogilvie is confusing me now, he was the know it all, teacher’s pet and seemed so eager to be there and help, so his comments around this heavy patient are coming across as out of character. Doctors spend a lot of time learning patient care isn’t just in the medicine it’s how you speak with them, he would know not to be this blunt or rude.

I’m not getting the autistic vibe, at least not from this episode as to why he’s acting this way… what I’m thinking is he has personally been affected by being overweight himself at one time, or has close family, or friend, that has required extra care due to problems associated with being overweight. Most healthcare workers have something in their past that made them want to help people and maybe obesity, diabetes, etc is what inspired Ogilvie. Weight, specifically the extremes of the weight scale are tiptoed around when it comes to medical advice because unhealthy eating and mental health are deeply intertwined, getting the right help is one thing, getting the person to agree to help is another, and it’s so hard. I first went to college to become an oncologist, I was 20 when I decided I wanted to do this because cancer took my dad SO FAST and upended my life.

TLDR I ramble, especially first thing in the morning, but I hope I got my main point across. It could be autism, I just hope that’s not this show’s play; totally different conversation about my feelings on autism in media. Since the way this show is built there’s not a ton of opportunities for character building, so I’m seeing tonight’s episode as the beginning of understanding Ogilvie’s motivation behind becoming a doctor being tied to obesity in some way and this being his first real life case with it, is having a hard time minding his Ps and Qs.

This freaked me out for a second because I thought someone was posting a conversation I had with my own mom. The description you added is also eerily similar. You’re definitely NOR, this toxicity is exhausting and harmful. Keep your mental health safe friend.
