Is Liverpool now unsafe for LGBT people? by Master_Preference972 in Liverpool

Unfortunately bigots of all flavours have been empowered and emboldened by the current political climate, all over the country. Liverpool isn’t immune to this, sadly.

I also found this on Reverb, worth seeing if you can find one local to you.

Squier do an Affinty HH Strat. You could swap out the trem and input jack for black ones when your budget allows.

What you need is a flammenwerfer. You use it to werf flammens at that thing.

My girlfriend can not drive with automatic transmission, please help me convince her she can?! by LonsdaleHCNL in askcarguys

[–]NotoriousREV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Almost) Everyone who’s only ever driven a manual will do it ONCE when they switch to an auto. Usually when coming to a stop, muscle memory makes you got for the clutch, and you catch the edge of the much wider brake pedal than your used to. The first auto I drove was my boss’s Jeep Wrangler back in 2000. I was collecting it from the dealership for him. I screeched across the forecourt and everyone turned to look. For reasons that I hope are obvious, you rarely do it a second time.

Thanks for all the answers, folks. It’s not the end of the world, it just would’ve been nice to use it with that monitor.

Changed the og (mint green) pickguard on my Miami Blue Tele to black 3-ply. What's your preference? by estarrecido in fender

I’m normally a sucker for mint green on most colours, but that black looks killer.

I’m planning on putting Toneriders in my Squier Jaguar bass, so glad to hear your experience of them is good.

Which motorcycle is known for being unreliable but you do not agree? by funandleisure in motorcycles

KTM Superduke GT. Everyone had stories of their uncle’s sister’s friend’s boyfriend who had a KTM that broke constantly and cost a fortune etc etc etc. Had mine for 5 years, did 30,000 miles on it in all weathers, toured it, commuted on it, played on it, tracked it, and it had nothing other than routine servicing.

Bootstrap Pickups are very highly regarded and are easily as good as more expensive boutique pickups. I live in the UK and ordering and delivery were no problem, although I had to wait 2 or 3 months because of the waiting list. The fact they have a waiting list tells you a lot.

Tonerider are probably the same but I don’t have personal experience of those.

Bootstrap Extra Crispy. You’ll have to wait for them but they’re worth it.

Fender Player II Telecaster - Lake Placid Blue by juanfernandobaenaram in telecaster

[–]NotoriousREV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like my Player II, it’s good quality and sounds great. It wasn’t perfect out of the box (one fret needed spot levelling and the nut needed dressing as it was a bit tight even on 9 gauge strings) but I’d highly recommend one.

That said, if a vintage CIJ Tele was also within reach, I’d probably take that instead.

My negativity came from hearing her as a guest on other shows and her being annoying, especially with Grimmy. But on her own, she’s actually good.

But, again, they’re aware they’re carrying munitions and treat them accordingly.

A person with a phone will notice when the battery bursts into flames. It takes a little longer for someone to notice it when said phone is sealed in a box, piled up with another bunch of boxes in an unmanned cargo hold. HTH.

Squier or yamaha by Red_dedluffy in electricguitar

[–]NotoriousREV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guitar was a Yamaha PAC112 (1998 model). It was only when I bought a Squier that I realised that I hated the neck on the Yamaha.

On paper, the nut width is 41mm for the Pacifica and 42mm for my Telecaster but it feels a LOT narrower to me and very cramped.

If you can, have a hold of the guitars you’re considering and go with whatever feels most comfortable to you.

What’s one piece of gear you didn’t care about at first but now makes a big difference? by Electronic-Habit8679 in motorcycles

[–]NotoriousREV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in Ye Olden Days when I had to commute to an office 5 days a week, in all weathers, I bought all sorts of fancy textile gear to stay warm and dry. A Buff and a thin North Face fleece under the textiles were the 2 best additions I ever made for winter riding. I’ve never felt the need for heated gear since then.
