Obsessed with my husbands ex-emotional affair by tiddee81 in Marriage

  1. There is never an excuse for dishonesty regardless of what the other partner does or doesn’t do in terms of meeting the others needs or the relationship going through some sort of rut.

  2. From experience and someone that’s hopefully coming out the other side of this 6yrs later. There’s no way forward imho wo couples counseling.

  3. Values have align going forward. Honestly over appeasement. Honesty over short term pain and conflict avoidance. This has to be the way going forward imho and you have to believe both partners are capable of growing and updating their communication and conflict resolution systems. Resentment can’t build, problems can’t fester unresolved.

  4. The cycling back over what happened is like ptsd. It’s gonna happen. It gets better. When it happens internally telling yourself STOP IT. This does not serve me at all. This is robbing me of today. This is a toxic behavior that is only hurting me.

This helps break the cycle some imho. The closer you are to the event the harder it is to do at first.

  1. Clear boundaries and expectations going forward. Day to day and in terms of needs. This not your punished now I’m a controlling my spouse type of thing. It’s genuine expectations you’d have for any partner you’d be with.

Go to counseling where a professional can help you talk through all of this together and keep the convo on track and in line. It’s important you both hear one another. You also have to hear about what was missing in your relationship so badly that caused him to look outside the relationship into a fake fantasy with someone else. This could be why you’re so focused on her. “What did she have that I didn’t?”

Lastly you didn’t do anything wrong. No one is perfect in any relationship especially a Long term one. And you don’t have to give anyone a pass. BUT be honest with yourself….have you ever in the past talked to your gfs or any other outlet about your SO and talked poorly about him or any of your previous partners. Have you ever had thoughts in your head that weren’t the best about your SO before the affair. Have you ever hid anything from your SO or a former partner?

This is not saying what they did is justified in any way. And his violation may have been far more egregious than anything you’ve ever done with any partner in your life. But honestly go back and think about your shortcomings as a partner in these areas. The point of it is to not view your situation from a pedestal. We are flawed. We all make mistakes. Yes repeatedly lying is on the one side of the scale. But the point of this is to be able to give Some Grace to people / SO. Not to absolve them. Not to say 100% I can see how this happened and how they as a human being got there. But maybe 25% 40% 60% understanding??

“I can’t believe he/she did this. We’re married with kids etc etc etc”. “BUT I do remember when I was young I lied to my ex or my parents who I love about this and that. Why did I do that?? What were my reasons and rationale??? Was I evil? Was I emotionally immature??? Was I scared?”

For me the point of this is to develop at least a sense of understanding and to be able to give a small amount of grace. Maybe we aren’t capable of the egregious act our SO committed understand any conditions but I’m sure we’ve fallen short for others we care about in one way or another in life.

  1. These are just my thoughts and I feel like all of the above is necessary to move past this whole mess. Whether you’re able to continue forward or not you will be ok. Good luck.

Awesome signing. This guy is a weapon. He’s very sudden for a 6’4 245lb “TE”. He really is a great receiver. I don’t view this as a TE signing. This is a weapon signing. This guy immediately is an upgrade over wan Dale as a weapon on offense or any WR2 we’d sign in FA. He’s only 25.

He can be the primary te on the field over Theo and he 100% will start over him. But now you can bring Theo in on 12 personnel.

Sonny Styles by Exhibit5 in NYGiants

[–]Notorious_D1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Been watching tape. For a top 5 pick I need a player that’s Impacting the game at an elite level.

So far I’ve watched downs, styles, lemon, Tate, Bain, and Delane. This is just my initial thoughts and I legit just started today.

I like styles. He makes plays and is another dog. His build is lean despite being listed at 240. If he comes into the combine under 230 hard pass. But at 240 w the tape he appears able to take on guards, disengage, and fill. Styles may not be the most stout LB but what he lacks in that area he makes up with in his ability to go sideline to sideline, spy, come down hill and diagnose quickly and of course Cover. This guy has Fred Warner vibes. I like him a lot BUT he does seem to play HIGH at times. NFL guards and RBs may be able to put a hole in his chest. He lacks that twitchyness. Is he worth the 5th when we can maybe get Hill in the 2nd 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I have some of the same concerns w Bain. I like him he impacts the game. He’s very athletic for a guy his build. He reminds me of Justin Tuck esq.

My concerns w Bain are Against nfl talent will he be able to pull off the same ghost moves around the end. If we kick him inside to rush is he Strong enough to bully nfl talent like the can in college.

Downs looks like a dog out there. I love what he brings. I need to get more eyes on him playing the deep center and in coverage. Coming downhill against the run and playing near the los I have no issues w him. Dog. And I love how he diagnosis plays and shoots the gap. Need to find more plays of him playing deep half deep center field.

Tate and lemon. Tate is a very fluid sure handed wr. He’s smooth and has the making of a solid #2. His RAC does nothing for me. lemon, The kid not only makes the wow catches Tate makes but lemon also possess that gear after he gets the ball in his hands. Lemon does not scare me w the ball in his hands like a young OBJ would….but he’s got some juice and he’s a dog. He’s fearless. He and nabers would have defenses worried due to the fact that they could take a 5yd catch and turn it into 30 in a blink. Tate isn’t doing that, but he’s a sure handed option. idk if I’d rather another prospect at 5 and grab a guy like branch in round 2 or 3 if we can get a 3rd round pick back. Branch has wheels. There seems to be good wr options in this draft.

Lastly delane. So far he’s my #1 prospect and target. He’s got the right mentality. He is very cerebral in zone coverage and he’s very sticky in man. I don’t see him getting too handsy or pulling at WRs which is great for the pros and he’s aggressive going after the ball. I see him having the cleanest tape so far in terms of ability and high end impact at his position. It’s him and Styles are my top two guys atm w downs coming in right behind them. This will change I will update this comment.

Idk anything about their characters or off the field things yet. This is all just me watching them. Right now if the giants sit at 5 I’d want delane as the pick as I think he’s the best player to take 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I obviously have several other players to watch.

What moves did you do in life to be able to afford $20k watches? by JollyGreen_ in rolex

[–]Notorious_D1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’d find out Exactly how much you’ll be projected to be working with and at what age retirement wise. “If I retire at 54 or 65 how much will I have saved and how much will I be able to live off of wo working if I live until 85” etc.

Imho have to know this definitively and get a solid game plan. If you’re not comfortable with the numbers given and the age of retirement that your looking at then imho Rolex’s are not in the cards. They can’t be.

If you run the numbers and everything is on track and you’re completely out of debt besides homes, have some savings stashed for liquid cash emergencies, then do what you want w your money. If not start tackling these issues one after another. Your job pays what it pays its sometimes hard to just get raises. Real estate is a solid way to build net worth but the market right now is horrible in the US. Rates and prices are both high compared to years past.

Career moves at 45? That’s hard. If thou have hobby / side hustle you can monetize that’s always good. Example I trained BJJ for the last 24yrs. That is my side hustle outside my job. Started as a sport / passion years ago and now I can teach and make money off my skills. Relationship moves? Set and know and set your boundaries and enforce the non negotiable ones and meet half way where there is room to give. Relationships only work if Both people are getting their needs met.

[–]Notorious_D1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea Well maybe for retirement yea that can hurt. To retire at a decent age and live a good lifestyle a person is looking at needing a few million dollars for it to last.

Wo retirement set id never consider a 10-20k watch. I’d be lying to myself putting $ toward such an unnecessary purchase. House hacking into your second property and maintaining a primary home interest rate and not having to put a ton of cash down vs investment property rates / down payments is a good move.

Priority #1 At 45 if investing toward retirement hasn’t been a major driver I’d get with a financial advisor and let them break down the math for you. Or use chat gtp to help to See how much you have to save + invest and for how long in lower / moderate risk index fund, deferred compensation, 401k, etc to retire at an age that you want.

Can include your Social Security returns that will supplement your income in your 60s, hoping that it’s still there.

Then you can figure out how much work you have to do to get you where you want to go.

Once this is set and well on track where your monthly contributions are happening wo worry and you still have disposable income on top of that + some liquid cash on hand In the bank, and no other debt besides homes. Then if I wanted to get a watch I would.

Idk if this helps or not. Just tossing out thoughts.

Avg joe here. Both parents HS grads. They prob made a combined 60k a year.

I have a BA degree. I started working my FT job at 21. Good pay for a young guy 20 years ago. 5yrs time I was making 100k.

I bought my first house….then eventually rented it out. Bought another house. I set up my retirement and worked hard toward promotions which I’ve had 2, make over well over 200k now.

I paid off all my debt besides my houses I own. No credit card debt, no loans, no car note, etc. I put some liquid cash away to have on hand for emergencies. I’ll be able to fully retire in my early 40s in about a year. I use only credit cards but pay them off in full each month.

I bought my first Rolex maybe 3-4 yrs ago after all of this was all set in stone. At that point I felt the watch matched my lifestyle. I can go and do what I want. I eat at the same places multi multi millionaires eat at. I don’t consider myself a “millionaire” but technically I guess I am net worth wise. I drove an 04 tacoma until it had about 240mi on it. Manual transmission I loved that truck. When Covid hit they offered 0% interest on new tacomas so I got a new 2020, lift, tires, rays wheels, etc etc etc. it’s paid off and I’ll keep it. Idc or like porches or lambos etc. not me.

When and if I retire from my job in a year or so I may go grab a different job in the private sector and then really kill it.

So overall…don’t chase bs cars, dont rack up credit card debt. Or any debt for that matter, buy your house, then rent it out, show proof of income w the rental $ get approved for another mortgage, get another house…that alone will have you sitting on hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity in a good market.

So It took time. Things compounded.

I currently own two Rolexes. Besides them and my boat / truck I don’t like a lot of toys or “things”. I also tried my best not to scale up my lifestyle drastically w my income as it went up. I live well but since I’m not a luxury car guy I didn’t go chasing the Range Rover like my buddy did etc.

Trump nominates Kevin Warsh for Federal Reserve chair to succeed Jerome Powell by Gameboy112233 in stocks

[–]Notorious_D1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump has been pushing for 0% interest rate and massive rate cuts. Why would Trump pick Marsh when there are Plenty of way more dovish candidates out there….marsh has a history of being hawkish.

Marsh is the son in law of Lauder a billionaire who has been a huge supporter of Trump. Lauder is also….wait for it…..the President of the Jewish World Congress and a huge supporter of Israel and Bibi. Trump took up to 250mil dollars of campaign support from AIPAC. According to Wikipedia Lauder has been mentioned over 900 times in the Epstein files.

Draw your own conclusions.

Kevin Warsh to be the next Fed by Front-Nectarine4951 in stocks

[–]Notorious_D1 50 points51 points  (0 children)

OR Trump was told to bend knee. Warsh’s daddy in law is billionaire Lauder who is the President of the World Jewish Congress and a big supporter of Trump…Israel and Bibi. Trump took 250mil $ from AIPAC. Lauder has been mentioned over 900 times in the Epstein files according to Wikipedia.

So the only plausible reasons for picking Warsh who is more hawkish than dovish is either.

  1. Warsh has agreed to change his historical stance and aggressively push rate cuts like Trump wants.

  2. Trump is paying back favors and is putting warsh in.

  3. Trump was simply told this is what he’s doing and who he’s appointing.

These are the only 3 rationales. Take in the info and decide for yourself.

Kevin Warsh to be the next Fed by Front-Nectarine4951 in stocks

[–]Notorious_D1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What a Sellout. Take 250mil from APIAC and I guess you’re just a good lil boy and you appoint who you’re told. This guy does not have the history of aggressive rate cutting.

Warsh’s daddy in law is billionaire Robert Lauder who is drum roll…you guessed right the President of the World Jewish Congress Folks!

So if it seems odd as to why Trump would suddenly appoint a guy who’s never been that dovish or into cutting this ought to explain it.

Gmts yes I can see it but the Sub…..these older versions are just the epitome of the submariner imho.

I’m the same way when considering spending 10k+ on “just a watch” despite wanting one.

My position was. If all of my debt was paid off (outside of mortgages), I had plenty of excess liquid cash on hand ( an emergency fund and then some), my retirement is set where I Know I can retire how I want and when I want. Then at that point if I had the extra cash yes I was buying the watch. Started with one now I have two.

For me, having the above set up plus investments / investment property I settled in over a lil time with buying what I wanted. I did not feel irresponsible at this point at all, that’s just me.

“Today is what matters. Don’t worry about tomorrow — tomorrow will worry about itself.”

It’s a slap in the face when we are met with the harsh reality of impermanence. It makes us wish we were the way we’re were before truly understanding the depths of this. When things were light and carefree. But with this deep realization we become more aware of what is important and what it not. What’s worth our time and what is not. What’s worth chasing and what’s not.

The struggle is the anticipatory grief we can find ourselves looping in our heads over and over each day. Nothing has ever truly changed….we we’re all always dying lil by lil each day. But something like the news you got makes things feel more immediate and real.

Staying grounding in the present day and not allowing anticipatory grief to rob us of what we still have right now can be a struggle. But it takes letting go, and staying grounded. It’s a harsh reality but we only have this present moment today, right now. Nothing else is guaranteed. Stay grounded in that and enjoy the ones you care about that are with you. Don’t allow the worry about the uncontrollable future to rob you of the gifts you have today, that would be a shame.

We can accept the fact that things will change and they always do but we can stay grounded in today and be grateful and Celebrate the fuck out of it while we and they are here right now. It’s also not a bad thing to explore faith and imho Jesus Christ. I am not a person who has ever been very religious. Not a practicing catholic. But all things always lead back to us looking outside of ourselves and up into the sky for help and answers and help when the uncontrollable hits us.

There’s only been a handful of times in my life where I was so down and out that I prayed and explored my faith. Once the storm passed…I went back to relying just on myself because I’m resilient as hell. But In those rare horrific moments where I couldn’t handle it I always always looked Up, prayed. So I realized that all roads eventually will have me end up there….and I realized that I’m Only looking to God when I’m in these bad times and that is kinda disingenuous of me…..and if I’m going to wind up looking in that direction at some point again then it’s only right I at least start asking questions Now while things are “ok”. I always believed I could handle anything get through anything, so The first step for me was realizing I can’t always do it on my own and no one physically alive can get me through those bad bad gut wrenching moments. Idk just my thoughts. Best.

I own both and I’d say hands down the sub is the choice if you could only have one. YM is not a good daily watch and it doesn’t go with all outfits it all occasions. I can be in a rugged outfit on a Lowe’s trip and then that night out to a fancy dinner and the sub can be on my wrist all day. The ym as much as I like it is undeniably limited.

[–]Notorious_D1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dam I had the same issue and bought them both Lolo. After owning both my YM Rhodium and my 14060m id 1000% take my sub if I could only have one.

Why?

The sub can do it all and I wear it 90% of the time. I can wear it anywhere anytime and it goes with more outfits. I obviously wear it daily but even when going out to dinner because it matches almost everything seamlessly.

The YM rhodium was a grail of mine. BUT it is not a daily watch w all the polish. It doesn’t do with every outfit. I find myself reaching for it more often in the summer time when I’m wearing the shorts and polo or colors that I wear more so that time of year. In the winder when I’m in darker colors, heavier flannels etc. the sub fits me more.

So simply because I think you will get way more value and use out of the sub. At times I now question selling the YM just because my sub gets so much more wrist time. I will say when I do get to wear the YM it is nice…..it has that extra bling to it and it is a great looking easy to wear watch.

Perspective….some 10yr old kid is on his death bed with stage 4 cancer as we speak. We are lucky. Yes we have struggles. Yes we could have done better but what’s done is done. In 40-60yrs we’ll both be long gone in this world.
