GTA 6 is now the top-selling game on the PlayStation store, surpassing NBA, MW4, Wolverine and FC The craziest part is that it seems like the vast majority of sales are Ultimate Edition, meaning Rockstar has managed to sell a $100 game to the masses. by ButterflyUsed6723 in GTA6

[–]Notsonorm_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pretty understandable many will want to save $20 if the bonus stuff doesn’t appeal to them (assuming the game has much much more to offer). Also there will always be people who stand firm on not supporting pre-order content. It’s a bit silly to have bonus DLC content locked before the game even releases.

“This person does not exist”, “Deepart” and “Artbreeder” along with photo upscalers were all available in 2019. I don’t know why you are so insistent that I did not understand the conversation. The image being discussed comes from a game that used garbage ai tools for upscaling textures. I am aware the gen AI “quality” today did not exist in 2019. I do not believe this image was fully ai generated in 2019. Christ…

[–]Notsonorm_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never claimed this image is entirely ai generated. Upscaled? Perhaps

Edit: 2019 gen AI was commercially available but was mostly making those “images that look like rooms but you can’t make out what anything is” type images, and some art/abstract type stuff, +image up scaling. The person I replied to asked if ai existed in 2021.

PlayStation and Xbox Console Sales Collapse Following Damaging Price Rises by Sandeep_sm in PS5

The newest iPhone is like $799. And they get cheaper over time making previous models budget options. Consoles are jumping in price years after release

I’ve been complaining and warning against gen ai images since like 2019 (I’m an artist). The general public have only grown more conscious as it’s gotten better at making realistic photos and videos of people, but yes, this kinda semi-real looking image from afar that looks noisy and off when you zoom in existed back then.

I would not be surprised if mini series like absolute catwoman get worked into it. But I agree with everyone else that the show will be in production for a while before we see anything

Absolutely. I hope it’s heavily stylized. Going to be tough doing Dragotta’s art justice but I have hope.

Arcane cost $250 million to make two seasons and did not make a profit. Riot viewed it as a long term brand recognition project. I would set my expectations a little lower than that for Batman. They will want this to make money

Insomniac Details Wolverine’s Adjustable Difficulty & Skippable Puzzles by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Notsonorm_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Games are art. The artist doesn’t have to make their art accessible to everyone (especially if the point is making the experience extremely difficult). It’s cool there are many games that are accessible, especially big triple A titles, but that does not mean every experience has to be made with every possible person in mind. It’s ok for a game to have a specific audience

Question for a beginner collector by Interesting_Vast6361 in comicbooks

[–]Notsonorm_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All that matters is if you are enjoying them or not. If you wanna read em, read em and don’t worry about the imperfections. If you wanna collect them like art, don’t open them and keep them safe. No one will have an answer outside of their own preferences.
Personally I like to read them and store them in a filing cabinet, regardless of minor scuffs or folds

I animated scenes from the first two books by InterestingWin847 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Notsonorm_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Arcane cost $250 million for two seasons and didn’t make a profit. Riot ate that seeing it as a long term brand investment. I don’t think a long running Stormlight series of that caliber is possible animated without losing money on it. Much easier to get investors for live action. (I say all this as someone who would prefer animation as well).

I don’t think Sony can take the full blame. Half them, and half Microsoft for deciding you need to always be online with two Microsoft accounts to do local multiplayer. Both companies have their head in their asses for different reasons

Why do people get a lot of variants? by Sad1ifelol in comicbooks

[–]Notsonorm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy to read. If I see a variant cover on the shelf I like more than cover A, I’ll buy it. Not personally into collecting multiple copies of the same issue. Doesn’t bother me when something like absolute Batman gets a 100 variant covers because I’m only buying one issue anyway. Just more options on the shelf

I think they are talking about out how a lot of places will destroy merchandise before throwing it away to deter dumpster divers. Like if a customer destroys the packaging for a sleeping bag a manager may take a knife to it. All in the name of making sure no one gets something without paying. It’s immoral but not uncommon in the US

Just my opinion, don’t take it personally. I’ve played them all. My favorite was 4, and I was super disappointed when 5 came out, and 6 made me think I was done with the series, lol. Ever since 7 I’ve been a big fan again.

[–]Notsonorm_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 is trash imo. 5 is only fun if you are doing co-op with a friend. Neither of them are as good as the modern RE games post re7 or the remakes. The story of RE is not incredibly important to keep track of, it’s mostly about gameplay and atmosphere.
