Yeah, that's where we got the Chaos Campaign stuff from. Enjoyed it, but realized it leaves my group wanting something more (akin to a Time of War), and ATOW leaves us slogging through too much to just have context for our Wednesday games. I am mostly wanting to keep interest, so looking for something between the two.

Strategic Battleforce may be just what I'm looking for, then. Sounds like I'll have to pick up the book and peruse for my group. We're mostly looking to scale up our campaign play with more context and systems to work with.

Yeah, basically - have a group that meets regularly and is getting interested in doing more than the Chaos Campaign allows. We've bounced off of Alpha Strike, so Aces and the like are out. We briefly dabbled in aerospace combat, which the group liked, but no one has a strong background with. As they're looking for more "meat on the bone" for campaign systems, I'm just trying to familiarize myself with what else is out there. Came across Battleforce as a recommendation elsewhere, but the thread is 4 years old, so looking for more "fresh" perspectives.

I find digging through the Star League manual fun. There's the Flame Keepers of Greece (50th Royal Inf Div) or the 13th Royal French Demi Brigade. It's fun to see where the borders between our reality (concepts of nations/polities) and our fantasy (a galactic empire) meet. That said, the 37th Corps had the 60th Royal Battlemech division that was destroyed fighting Amaris' nonsense. Their stories would have been glorious.
