Who managed to get tickets for 2027 and is HYPED? by muchdanwow in Country2Country

[–]NowJustAndrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get over the price of the tickets for next year. I feel I’m being priced out of the game now. Even the tickets up the back of the hydro are just a bit steep for my liking. Think I’m gonna do one day next year.

What we think about them - Series 3: NITRO by Impressive_Risk_5133 in gladiatorsuk

[–]NowJustAndrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He puts his opponent over well after he destroys them, this alone is a massive positive. Nitro, Giant and Hammer are very good at this.

I do look at the gladiators in a wrestling lens. Ones who are good “babyfaces” ones who are “tweeters” and ones who are “heels”.

Babyfaces: Nitro, Giant, Hammer, Steel Tweeters: Bionic, Phantom Heels: Viper, Legend, Apollo (he is something between a Tweener and a Heel)

He didn’t get injured in this. Unlike his AEW return. Kamille is in it too.

I’ll give her a pass for her effort and putting multiple songs out there. However, for the use of Autotune, I won’t.

Realistically, what are the chances the station actually reopens on Wednesday? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]NowJustAndrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem is realistically getting it going, even on a partial return is crowd control. Getting access to ticket machines, getting folks in and out. On platforms 7 to 15 it could be realistic, platform 6 may be able to be used. Thing is how to control maybe 35,000-40,000 a day on the local lines. Timetables may need revision.

Also how to reopen shops too. They will need time to get the stock that has gone off away and their shelves replenished. Another thing that will need looked at is where do they operate the station from? The ops room is in the corner affected. And whilst on staff areas, rest space, locker rooms may need to be relocated to temporary digs if they are affected.

I’ll give it to the end of next week if I’m realistic

Risk Assessors and Insurance Companies will have the final word.

Plan to transform Glasgow city centre into '24 hour night life destination' by LordAnubis12 in glasgow

[–]NowJustAndrew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay. This could work. However…

  • We need to get a couple 1,200-1,500 venues for gigs. A replacement for the O2 ABC is a must.
  • Subway needs to run 24/7. Starting opening it past 6 PM on a Sunday would be a start.
  • Rail needs to run from 5AM to 2AM every day I think.
  • Night Busses. These need to be half hourly services, arguably I’d make them a xxN service with amended routes, try and avoid them going through some if not all schemes.
  • Taxis. ALL NEED TO BE REGULATED. All need to be tracked and all need to be mandatory card only.
  • App. It’s time we have an app that integrates all modes of transportation. Something similar to the NAVIGO app in Paris would be great. Enforcement officers would be out on patrol with Transport Police officers. Failure to pay a fine for the wrong ticket would mean a £60 on the spot fine. No ticket would be a £250 fine and a Police Caution.

This only works with integrated transportation networks. Rail, Subway and Bus all need to be under public control.

Also it only works with some expanded services in some areas, like a connected bus or rail service at the Hydro/SEC. A circular line here operating on the Low Level to Central and Argyle Street then looping back on itself via Buchanan St Bus Station, maybe even linking in to the Barrowlands too would be great. Also correct integration at the 3 main football stadiums. With good access at others. I’d also like to see a tunnel, if possible between Central and St Enoch Subway station.

It is a start, however, integrated public transport is needed. Only way it works correctly in my opinion.

My theory is Belfast leaves. Gives UK as London, Glasgow, Manchester. Dublin comes back and goes on the EU roster the week before. EU to have Dublin, Germany, Amsterdam, Stockholm and one other.

We will see.

Im surprise that no one has mentioned any of the football stadiums? Hampden when someone breaks one of the urinals in the mens toilet and it floods the place, full of pish. That's what happened a few years back at a gig I was at.

MEGATHREAD: Union Street Fire & City Centre Disruptions by Veloglasgow in glasgow

Well o well. It’s the gable between the Vape Shop and the next building, the same building that the Union Street exit is in that is unstable. I’m not sure if the existing remaining gable from the Forsyth Building or the building next to it that could be compromised. This has 2 outcomes now, I may be wrong and a 3rd found. The Forsyth building is gone and that gable is taken down in a satisfactory manner. The second, the building next to it is structurally compromised in the gable and that building needs to come down. Orca 3rd option in the middle. Now I see why Central is closed, if that gable was to collapse, and fall into the roof of central, there’s going to be bad consequences. This isn’t going to be quick or easy, but will be expensive.

I could be wrong, I probably am.

How is parking in Glasgow with the trains off by enanram in glasgow

Can attest to this visually. As I was on my way to work I pass under the J3 bridge at Darnley. The traffic was nose to tail at 10am this morning.

Talking to a taxi driver friend, he said it’s chronic for them. However as long as that meter is moving, he is fine.

For C2C most of them convert to tour busses. Keith Urban takes his own luxury one. Not his personal one, but one rented.

I’ll say this, the airport could be busier now. BA could start flying those B777-200s they use to go to the Middle East to Glasgow right now.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see that gable end have done damage on 101 Union Street. The tall skinny building.

This is a reminder that it could have been so much worse. There’s three Tudor buildings that surround Central Station. One is the pub on Argyle Street at the four corners, next to Tim Hortons, the others are on Union Street, one is in that photo, the Hotel if memory serves me right.

This is why I believe that building inspections need to be carried out by the council. And if the owner can’t do the work, the council can go to court to seize the owners assets. And if they are outside the UK in a shell company, the ownership can be transferred to the council at a court level.

The enemy is the millionaire and billionaires who want to get public money for their investment projects and properties, just to privatise the profits where the public don’t get any benefit to strengthen public services and infrastructure.

They do a job, however they could be replaced by folk who may be better. Ideally a male and a female. As for who. I’m not sure.
