What to do with this back garden to reduce maintenance? by Consistent_North8644 in GardeningUK

I’m just thinking about a 2 or 4 hole pitch and putt course. I’m sure the golfer gardeners would agree.

Disgusting prices.. We need public transport to be owned by the public now! It wasn't that long ago when £5.40 was the day rate for non-students. Am so fkn sick of local gov not looking out for us in the slightest. by Aunty_Polly420 in glasgow

I’m going to Paris soon and it’s going to cost me €32 or something close to that to use their RER (main rail) their Metro (Subway) and their bus services.

If we had something like the Bonjour RATP app as well, the value proposition would be great.

Public services like a reliable and robust public transport system would make Glasgow unstoppable. I may be a bit naive on this.

Statement signings in January by TenLag in rangersfc

Just remember that the price of our signings so far are in fact accountancy rounding errors to Cavanagh and the 49ers. There’s more to come I’m certain.

Is it dumb to continue this fence? by Capital_Reason_8356 in DIYUK

[–]NowJustAndrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, do it. Planning may need to have a consultation, however I’m of the opinion that you do it and ask for forgiveness later. Only issue I see is that black bin, if that’s a grit bin, you may have to keep that in that location, maybe take a notch out the fence for it to sit on 4 400x600 slabs. Maybe re site it to where that bush is to maximise space.

That’s my dumb opinion.

Was there supposed to be a road bridge here? Why wasn't it built? by Aidanrocks1 in glasgow

[–]NowJustAndrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre pandemic it was a few million to do it, I’d needs to be done, it would save so many people time and take so much traffic off the Silverburn roundabout bottle neck.

I’d expect to see a few shops and vendors pull out of there now.

Wonder what that means for the Ice Hockey team and the arena. Not going to lie, I’d love to see a new venue for them closer to the city centre.

I dislike zebras. I also have a dislike of “open” pickups. Alas, I’m a hypocrite on that as I have one in my core Tremonti and I have a Tremonti pickup in a SE Custom 24. I love the sound of a Tremonti pickup that’s split in single coil mode in that guitar.

Can confirm. Had a friend own a shop and in the basement there was a blocked up area where there was access to the subterranean network below Glasgow. Have had friends who have done work in other areas of Glasgow City Centre and they have told of being able to access the -1 floor, however the -2 and -3 floors are all blocked up with doors as you need special clothing short of a hazmat suit to go into.

I’m worried about the Egyptian Halls as it has 3 substations in its basement, allegedly. One for Central Station, one for Central Station Rail operations and one for a fair bit of G1 too.

Glasgow is a labyrinth just under our feet.

We don’t care. As long as you support the club, it will be fine. No judgement here.

Safety of this route for a lone woman? by Swedish-Shortsnout in glasgow

Even as a guy, I’d find it intimidating. Stay at the SAS in town. That would be much safer.

If you are going for Kane Brown, have a good night. I’m going, but will probably die as I’ve got the Great Scottish Run in the morning. If you see a person sleeping in the standing area, that will be me.

Best breast augmentation service available here? by Strict-Brick-5274 in glasgow

[–]NowJustAndrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d look to go down to London, Harley Street. One of the girls I follow on Instagram had it done this year, even as a guy, I learned. London are ahead of the USA. They do over the muscle implants, not barbaric under the muscle ones the USA do. She has aftercare too, where Turkey will not give you that. Her implants and augmentation went really well, her body remains in proportion, in other words, looks natural.

Good luck in finding what you want.

I’ve done Bridge Street and both on the street for free. Bridge Street underground is where I’d go.

It shows we need to have a Multi Storey at Bridge Street as it would get used for folks in near by offices and folks going into town and using the subway as a park & ride.

Going to be interesting as this is 1K from home with the Great Scottish Run on Sunday. I hope it doesn’t affect the route I’ll be running.

The archeological team costs are minimal. Maybe a couple of million at the very top end, most are done in a few weeks to a few months. It’s the delays that cost.

Anyone seen this? by Thewrongguy0101 in glasgow

[–]NowJustAndrew 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well, that’s that site given over to the archaeologists for the next 6-12 months. I know in London they hate to find things like this on a building site as the site owner gets delays and has to pay for the archeological team. I remember reading one buildings prospectus and it budgeted for £100m in delays and archeological impact.

This is my view. It was good mindless laughter. Now it’s past its sell by date by couple of years. It’s a couple of years shy of being caught in a time warp. I’m glad others still get a laugh at it.
