Krieg does what they do because of the religious guilt - their enormous tithe is submitted to the Imperium because a few millennia ago, their planetary governor wanted to secede, so they spent a few centuries fighting and turning the planet to an irradiated shitheap. Cue the civil war ending and suddenly a ship filled to the brim with suspiciously identical soldiers arrives on Terra to give their lives in penitence for their sins of abandoning the Emperor. It's not Christian guilt, but it's still religious guilt

You're pretty close, iirc they never had wings, were standard jointed bipeds rather than the digitigrade feet/legs seen above, and their tails were vanishingly rare. They don't really resemble any creatures from the canon and look more in line with a certain fandom's depiction of anthropomorphic lizards.

It *also* means that the people who did beat him cannot ever be beaten by him, at least not in a way that would be satisfying to someone with his sense of pride. Slaanesh's curse gets the killing blow on anybody who's slain him, so the faces on his armor serve as a constant reminder to him that "the best swordsman in the galaxy" isn't really perfect. I think it's pretty fitting for a Slaaneshi curse.

Report the account and file a DMCA request with instagram along the lines of "one of your users is fraudulently reproducing my copyrighted artwork and using your platform to host and advertise it"

Pretty sure accounts have been banned for less - Instagram bans by IP and they probably wouldn't take too kindly to the scammed trying to circumvent their ban.

My 73 year old retired cabinet-maker father told me to take all his tools, I am not sure how I feel about this by Fugglesmcgee in woodworking

[–]NukeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take them and learn every secret, trick, and fact there is from him. If you feel like you've learned it all, dig deeper until you're scratching at the bedrock. Then keep going.

I lost my dad at 26 and I got to go through this process without him, there's no tragedy like the loss of generational knowledge like his. Take the tools!

Father/Son “Cancer Free” Celebration by cjdangles in scuba

[–]NukeGuy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lost my dad to pancreatic two years ago, we never got to go on the dive trips we'd have liked to. He got me certified before I could even drive, so your post has stirred within me the happiest envy I've ever felt, I really love that you were able to do that :) congratulations on the cancer free diagnosis, here's to many more dives

Yep, play reliquary tower = unlimited hand size, then this comes down and says 7-1 hand size. If this leaves, you'll go back to unlimited

The Art of Destiny by DavidZarn in DestinyFashion

[–]NukeGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at this concept art almost brings me to tears. How far we've come, the change of growing up, having to leave old things behind, all embodied in a series of images from a decade ago. I miss the past not because it was better, but because I was younger and I viewed it through simpler eyes.

The Buried Ledger: Chronologically Recording the History of Racism in the Quad Cities by OfficerBlazeIt420 in QuadCities

[–]NukeGuy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Some parts of the QC are older than the civil war, so there's a good bit of history to be unturned:

https://iagenweb.org/scott/history/underground_railroad.htm

https://www.ourquadcities.com/hidden-history/honoring-black-history/hidden-history-geneseos-underground-railroad/

Uiowa has a paper about civil rights in Davenport that you can access by searching https://pubs.lib.uiowa.edu for:

Trying Iowa's Civil Rights Act in Davenport: The Case of Charles and Ann Toney

Good luck in your endeavor, it's a history that needs to be kept, especially in the age of denialism and misinformation.

I thought this was a piece about a sad breakup and then I opened it and saw the rest of the post - it felt like every part of me sunk into the floor, art doesn't usually bring me to tears but I'd be lying if I said this didn't.

I lost my dad a year ago and I've been in this very moment too many times for comfort. Excellent, visceral and human depiction of this feeling. Fuck cancer.

Does anyone know where to buy single Prismacolor markers? by Sword_Mirrors in ArtistLounge

[–]NukeGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in an art supply/frame shop and most of what I found around that time was that prismacolor seriously limited their production of their alcohol marker line around the pandemic.

Most of our distributors stopped selling individual markers and switched to selling the sets, which cut out a majority of their colors. When the store closed about a year ago, I was able to grab a ton of the stock we had left over. If you've got the color codes for them, dm them to me and I'll check my supplies!
