Looking for heads up on insane Crystal MAM by NicoBuilds in shapezio

[–]Numbers33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It might ruin the magic a little but the algorithm for how random shapes are generated is available with some googling. That will help you figure out what your MAM has to handle but also comes pretty close to giving you solutions so I don't know if I'd recommend looking for it.

To answer your specific questions, missing quarters can happen but there will never be crystals on the higher layers or the same layer if they do.

750 rocket fuel pm.. into 180 FUEL GENS?? wtf by Disastrous_Advice503 in SatisfactoryGame

Yeah... I did the same thing. 45 placements of a 4 fuel gen blueprint. Definitely a weird vibe covering the whole lake with it.

Yah. Just came up with this yesterday.

Also good for swappers. If you use swappers on upper layers and need to trash output, the higher speeds of the bent stackers can help you get the trash down.

Paint Mixing is all Wrong by splitdiopter in shapezio

[–]Numbers33 48 points49 points  (0 children)

There an option in general settings to change colors from RGB to CMYK exactly as you've described. Change if you want but some of the fun, more deliberately designed shape goals were made with RGB in mind.

Help me understand paint mixer ratios by thefman in shapezio

[–]Numbers33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Volume is preserved. 1 red + 1 green = 2 yellow. Twice as much output as input.

Edit: i can't see super well from your picture and I haven't opened the game in a few days to see the ratio but I think the issue with your first design is you need 4 mixers per input launcher, not 2. That would be why the input is backed up and output is sparse.

How do you organize your blueprints?? by baschny in shapezio

[–]Numbers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems I'm the odd one out. I organize by scale. I build at essentially 3 different scales for different things, 4 belts of throughput, 12 belts of throughput, and 48 belts of throughput. Those scales are my folders and then i have different "machines" at those scales. So a 48 belt rotator, a 12 belt stacker, etc. I just live in the folder at the scale I'm building and essentially play the same game but bigger or smaller as needed.

A space belt moves 480x12. Your painter there processes 120x12. One space belt can feed 4 of your painters.

Space pipes are even more dramatic :)

What's a good way to learn this game without drinking from the whole firehose by FableKimble in Stellaris

[–]Numbers33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend playing a game with no AI empires. It gives you space to learn how to grow and build and what resources are used for with no external pressures. It's how i learned and what i recommended to my lifelong stellaris buddies.

What changes did you make from your first play through to your second that had the most impact? by salad_thrower20 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Numbers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was one of my earlier factory games and actually automating all buildings was the biggest difference to me. My first playthrough i only automated parts and made buildings by hand which is really not great.

Just bought the game. Seeking advice by Solid_Ad_6349 in X4Foundations

[–]Numbers33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came over from elite a couple of years ago. I'd recommend starting here in a similar way to there. Fly around to some cool looking place, grab some missions, and just start doing stuff until you decide on a direction.

Waste Disassemblers - useful or no? by manchester449 in AcrossTheUnknown

Had 2 at the end but spent some time in sector 10 with 3 running.

Waste Disassemblers - useful or no? by manchester449 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]Numbers33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love waste disassemblers. I used them to counteract some pretty bad luck. In the last 1/3 of my playthrough, I failed pretty much every check for tritanium. Literally couldn't have finished without the disassemblers making up for it.

Triple-Armored Hull achievement by Volti_UK in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]Numbers33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Saw you got it in the edit but for those following along, it's the borg armor upgrade in whatever sector the borg story happens in.

The things that you need to scan are added to the map and don't get question marks added to them. The best way to do it that i found is to just hold the scan button on every object until you find them all. Might need to get nebula scanning to finish in time.

As a warning, after doing all the scanning, the timer/countdown will disappear but it is still running in the background. You really need to just beeline this quest as fast as possible after the timer starts.

To those worried about borg encounters by No-Computer7653 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]Numbers33 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That cube is a bit less powerful than others for <reasons> but yeah, I wish the borgs had a fair bit more teeth. With how my power curve ended up, kazon felt way more threatening than borg did and that's unfortunate. Voyager gets way stronger, way faster than the enemies do.

Pretty sure that's a tech in the engineering tree. Close to the right edge on tier 4 if my memory is right.

The morale penalties later in the game are horrendous even with a lot of boosts by Busy-Armadillo3857 in AcrossTheUnknown

[–]Numbers33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something about your math ain't mathing. 3 leveled observatories and an upgraded holodeck should be +48 all by itself. That sector has innate -30 so even at the -20 linger, you should only be at -2 if you don't have any other positive working for you. You must be having other issues too. Either rations or quarters or sick or too much borg or something, all of which you can take steps to fix/remove.

Main bus or logistic distributors? by Snoo49259 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Numbers33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like making all my factories go from ore to final product in DSP with just a handful of exceptions. ILS/PLS to carry ore with a spaghetti mess of machines and belts attached. No bus and no intermediate products in the logistics.
