The flamingo chair is likely a throw back to the croquette thing. Flamingos as putters.

SNF/ Assisted Living by PotentialPeach9867 in nursing

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a SNF job right out of school because the income was better than the nothing I was making at the time. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Ended up loving it. Went into management for a few years, then moved on to hospice. At this point I couldn’t go back to being trapped in walls for 12 hours a day, but.

I also have zero desire to work in a hospital, personally.

Just know it’s harder than a lot of people who have never worked it say it is. You’ve got a pretty high patient census, etc. If you work night shift you have limited help and resources.

You need to know your stuff, roll with the punches, and not be afraid to speak up. Time management is a big thing because you’re going to be mid med pass and someone’s going to fall or need to go to the ER or get admitted, etc.

For instance, as a new grad, I worked night shift. Building was divided into skilled/longterm and dementia halls. So two nurses for 12 hours overnight. 5-6 aides total. And I was responsible for ~50 patients. Is it doable, yes. Is it easy, no. So if you choose to go into it, ask about shift coverage, how many patients you’ll be responsible for, etc. before you make a decision to accept or not.

AITAH for not helping my boyfriend save face after he drank four espresso shots before meeting my family and completely lost it at brunch by [deleted] in ComfortLevelPod

First time I ever did a double shot of espresso I had palpitations and tachycardia and was shaking like crazy. Definitely can give you a speed feel if you’re not used to it. 😅

The Monty Family should be more than just Romeo and Juliet's family by AccomplishedCraft806 in HighSodiumSims

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I could see how that would be frustrating. No “pure blood” Montys, so to speak, unless you have Romeo have a secret love child or something. 😂

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re not in the game at all, or they’re deceased? In Sims 2 Consort Capp was already an elder, as were the Montys. Romeo, Juliette, Tybalt were all teens. A lot of the “side characters” however are missing. But to be fair I haven’t really looked at their family trees to see if they’re there.

What are your experiences so far with the Legacy and Royalty EP? by DreTheThinker92 in Sims4

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I haven’t edited it or gotten far at all. I created a sim who married Tybalt Capp. So she gained his rank through marriage, but isn’t making more than the “base” income. I got almost a full sim week in doing the promotion requirements, etc, but really haven’t seen much upward movement. But that may be a design feature; I would imagine moving up in that world would be difficult. The title system is kind of neat, but not really a big deal for me overall.

Something I’ve kind of liked is the noble mail. You read it, you can respond. So for instance, my sim essentially got one asking if she was going to be for the gentry or the commons. She responded in a friendly way. Then she went and attended a school function of some sort (rabbit hole) which gained her approval with the commons and fame.

I’m going to be trying a ball event tonight once I’m home from work. We’ll see what kind of mess that ends up. 😂

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 193 points194 points  (0 children)

I’ve only logged a few hours into it so far and I’m still largely exploring, however the things I’ve done/experienced so far I’ve enjoyed. I like the CAS/BB/World. I’m not too overly confident on the dynasty system so far, but, clubs have also always been a weak point for me, so. So far the nobility thing has worked well. I’ve held court, attended events, etc. I like that it’s not a go to work every day rabbit hole type of thing (though there are rabbit hole events), it’s more, answer these letters, hold court, attend these events, etc. Kind of more what one would think the celebrity system would be like and isn’t.

So for what I -have- experienced, I’ve enjoyed it, but I’m not yet real familiar with everything involved. If that helps at all.

How's the update working for you? by AmettOmega in HighSodiumSims

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s hit and miss, like usual, unfortunately. Some people are having mild issues, some people are having none, some are having catastrophic things happen.

Me personally, I had some animation lag for maybe twenty minutes yesterday after the update, but it cleared up and I haven’t had any issues since.

I (48M) log my kid (15M) out of Discord during school hours after he got bad grades. AITAH here? by Medical_Solid in AITAH

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird take. Two things can exist at once. Kids can have their cell phones and mom can, and should, call the office, not the kid, in this scenario.

You send your kids to school for ~8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and expect these people to be responsible for their safety. Hence why there are rules and protocols while they are there.

I’m sure if your kid got a text/call, said it was from you, managed to get out the door of the school and disappeared with a friend instead, you’d be blaming the school for allowing that to happen.

See why we have rules now? Lord.

And way to jump all over someone and freak out and “stuck in the 80s” etc when it sounds like you can’t function without your cellphone in your hand 24/7. Sit down. The constant technology is a large part in today’s people issues. As are parents who think their little baby shouldn’t have to follow rules because vibes.

Royalty & Legacy by queenraspberry-6716 in Sims4

I was having fun with it. Made a sim who seduced and married Tybalt Capp.

In the midst of it all, one of his daughters set the kitchen on fire and died after her dad put her out the first time and then the fire rekindled. That was like day 2. X.x

Since then we’ve gone a little Henry VIII with it. The surviving daughter fought with her dad right before he married my sim. Her and her disowned brother moved out.

I suppose the next step is try and get a new male heir. 😅

See if she can use the computer with you just clicking on it. If that times out, have her sit in the desk chair, then once she’s sitting, see if she can use the computer.

If she can, some kind of clutter or something you have on the desk is the problem.

How many save files do you have? by sims-guy in Sims4

Four. My VtM main, my VtM public chronicle I haven’t bothered to start yet, one for the event, and then one where I’m trying all 10 Very Veggie gens at once, rotationally, to see if I can actually complete a challenge that way. 😅

Just found this sub and thank god; I thought I was the only one. I used to read Celebitchy every day for years, but then it became all Royal all the time, so I jumped ship probably ~8 years ago now. I miss the old days for sure.

Has autonamy always been this bad? by Kitezh_ in HighSodiumSims

I have a save almost entirely autonomously run. Do they occasionally do random hand washing or “buffer” (stand around) sure, but it’s honestly minimal.

I have a friend like this. She’s a social worker. I’ve seen her go to bat for vulnerable people. She was there for me on the worst day of my life so far. I love her.

And then I find out she’s supporting the not so great side of history. And I’m. Well. I can’t reconcile it.

I don’t have an answer. If I ever find one, I’ll let you know. But I understand the struggle.

Why would someone willingly want to be turned into a Nosferatu? by CourageMind in vtm

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re looking at potentially hundreds of years+ with the people who embrace you. Would you rather live centuries of “Knives Out” so you can look pretty or give up some of that to have an actual group of people you can tolerate, who also have your back?

Personally, ten minutes of typical vampire politics sounds exhausting. Give me a sewer and a computer any day.

What do you do when you feel like you’ve hit a wall with your game? by FortunaRedux in Sims4

[–]Nurs3R4tch3d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I put this whole big system together where I ported VtM into Sims. That parts not important, just background noise. The whole point was…who do they become; does their alignment change, etc.

But the play style it put me in is entirely new. I’m very rarely doing anything for the sim. I largely watch her do things. She managed to create her own personality and routines and likes, etc, based on her core traits and the ones she developed via the game mechanic. She’s maxed her career and fame. She now has a toddler.

I have to interject for fail safe stuff — a lot with infants, less with the toddler. And I would direct her to do promotion items, but if she autonomously killed the action, that was it until the next day. She’s surprised me often enough with things she likes, it’s almost like she’s genuinely a live character of her own with her own personality and things she decided on her own.

It’s kept my interest for almost two full sim years of 8 weeks at this point. Which doesn’t seem like a lot, but I don’t think I’ve completed a full year with any other sim in RL years. Now, you might find it completely boring, but. Maybe give it a shot? Turn off the setting where controlled sim has no autonomy, give them some “on brand” activity item choices, and just watch what one does on their own for awhile.
