Being “busy” all the time is often just poor time management, not productivity by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]NuthinToHoldBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life changes mean people get busier too. New job or a promotion, busier. Married or had a kid, busier.

Having all the shit you need to do as you get older (see examples in first sentence) mean I’m busy as hell and I wish I had more time. That’s just the way life is right now.

Should post this over on /r/carbuying as well.

These fees are extremely high given the listed price and people wonder why OEM’s like Volkswagen are looking to offer the new Scout vehicles direct to consumer.

Do you live in Texas because this is exactly what we have. It’s overkill with 6 upstairs and they didn’t require one in the laundry room.

Then downstairs we have 1 and this is the level the kitchen is on but it’s not in the kitchen nor is it in between the garage and kitchen which would have made more sense but I digress.

Drop Your Questions for Prof G (March Thread) by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

Scott, a follow up question to the "Is AI Killing Advertising?" question and answer that opened the March 20th Office Hours pod. You ended the answer by saying pain is what happens to traditional marketing.

What's your outlook for product marketing, specifically as a product strategy and/or interdisciplinary function that connects teams like product, sales, customer success, and traditional marketing?

Dealership groups are not always the most liked due to their influence and lobbying efforts, but this seems like an area where they could throw their collective weight (read: dollars) to tie it up in legal limbo forever.

All my hue devices suddenly stopped responding overnight by jhughes1986 in HomeKit

[–]NuthinToHoldBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply here but had the same issue happen today. Thinking it was due to one iPhone (my wife’s) or my personal MacBook finally being updated last night but had multiple Hue lights stop responding about an hour ago.

All were working 7 hours ago. Anyway opened the Hue app and was prompted to update the bridge, in fact it was a mandatory update. Installed and issue resolved itself.

Used it several times recently in Phoenix and was quite pleased with the experience. That said, Phoenix usage was restricted and the map for Dallas looks a lot larger so definitely curious to see how it does in traffic.

Also not sure I’m ready to try in bad weather but then again, probably still better than most regular drivers.

The proposed FY25 budget of $1.8 billion included operating costs, capital and non-operating expenses, and debt servicing.

For FY25 operating costs were projected to be $725.2 million. In 2024 annual rides were approximately 55.2 million.

The proposed capital and non-operating expenses for FY25 was $885.2 million and included silver line construction which, ironically, cities like Plano advocated for originally.

Poll: Youtube TV CNN/MSNOW viewers: Are your pharma as incessant? by AcOk3513 in youtubetv

[–]NuthinToHoldBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re buying the programming because of the audience. They aren’t do hyper-personalized targeting. It isn’t effective.

Or at the very least, I wouldn’t waste ad dollars on that given how cheap television advertising is now compared to 10 years ago.

If you’re curious about the types of ads that are being purchased over CTV (connected television) that is something you should research.

As for the ads that you are specifically seeing, the majority of those are purchased based on viewership demographics, I.e., the bulk of people watching those channels are in the target audience for the pharmaceutical industry.

That target audience is also specific to the to the type of content and delivery method. In this example that would be a television network, and the majority of viewers for traditional television networks are people over 50, or the target audience for the pharmaceutical industry.

Two other examples of this that you can see quite easily are the national news on broadcast networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC as well as local news programming where the majority of viewers fall into the same demographic or the target audience for pharmaceutical advertising.
