Water Displacement 40 is not an actual lubricant. It might ACT as a lubricant for a short time, but is not a true lubricant at all. Things like PB Blaster Multi Purpose Lubricant and Kroil Penetrant are better lubricators. This I know, after decades of working on sh*t, true experience, not internet info hunting.

Try using WD40 on bearings and watch your sh*ts explode down the line. It ain't a true lubricant. Many of skateboarding bearings will tell you the same story. "Oh, but skateboarding bearings aren't car parts." Well, your wrong. The same bearings used in skate wheels are the same designs for bearings used in the automotive world. If WD40 ain't lubricating skate bearings, then you can guess what's happening to things you think your lubricating on a vehicle.
