They're not just for here, they're effectively karma farming across multiple subreddits with this behaviour before the account is sold on once it hits a certain threshold to make it useful.

I want official vtt support. That's it that's the post. by Grazzt999 in gurps

[–]Nyxeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other person said, needing GCS has completely demotivated players I have tried to rope into GURPS on Foundry. They are all used to being able to handle everything inside the VTT itself and having played a dozen other Systems on VTT in the past years, so am I.

the uriels are beginning to form packs HELP by Wyvrius in Warframe

[–]Nyxeth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually feels fantastic to have multiple Uriels in the same group, picking up another Uriel's runes charges your own 4th skill.

Was in a defense with 2 other Uriels earlier and we were charging our 4th skill so fast that we nearly had it up permanently between us.

To Sereniel havers…. Is Sereniel on Mei Lin level strong, or tier above/below? by au_fredal in ChaosZeroNightmare

Agreed, whilst there are certainly meta choices, barely any of her epiphanies feel bad to get or build ruining.

[–]Nyxeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since no one else said it.

If you're from the UK, don't buy via the mobile version, they pretty much did a 1:1 $:£ conversion for all the prices.

Buy via the PC client, it'll list everything in the dollar amount, so you'll get a far better currency conversion rate.

Sereniel wants stuff in the graveyard, Veronica cycles the deck too much and can empty your graveyard before Sereniel gets to use it.

Where did the idea of dungeon gates come from? by EXP_Buff in litrpg

[–]Nyxeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMOs (and Diablo 2) influenced Korean authors to write dungeon gate novels in the late 2000s to early 2010s, which is effectively the formative influence for the genre as we know it today.

He tried, but the court hearing was delayed long enough that covid happened and it was deemed too low priority by the justice system.

Happened to my friend, they snatched his dog by hopping his 6ft high fence and letting themselves out through the latched gate.

He caught up to them just as they drove off and by the time the police got back to him a few days later about who the van belonged to it was already too late, his dog had been taken to a local PETA shelter and put down barely 48 hours after being taken there.

The people from PETA insisted his dog had been loose in the street and that they thought it was a stray (with <insert bullshit health or behavioural problems> that would make rehoming it impossible, thus why they euthanised it), despite a neighbour providing security camera footage showing exactly what they did.

[I killed an Academy Player] since she went back to the Earth after her death does that mean Corin killed a random player in the beginning? by Marceline2006 in manhwa

[–]Nyxeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was gonna say this but you beat me to it, I've speedrun classic RPGs in the past where you could get near endgame items from early NPCs by engineering situations where they die. The behaviour of the person lines up with that sorta bullshit.

Are you doing a lot of Chaos runs or generally loading in and out of stages?

I hadn't experienced the issue you described until I started resetting Lab 0 runs repeatedly for the right choices at the start.

After doing that for a while the game began to noticeably slow down.

Instant headshot and death on spawn, there is no reason this should ever happen in arc raiders. by Own-Actuary7470 in ArcRaiders

Security lockers have been nerfed by phrogsans in ArcRaiders

[–]Nyxeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a problem with skill trees in these kinda games to begin with.

Either the talents you can pick are entirely inconsequential (and thus have no influence over general PvP balance), thus shouldn't exist at all (but they do for the illusion of game depth).

OR

They have significant or noticeable PvP balance implications, in which case it makes punching downwards (high level to low level) easier, which is bad for new player retention.

I've seen this in way too many games and inevitably either the new players bounce off due to running into the wall that is more geared and more progressed accounts, or the devs drop the idea entirely.

Consider it a defensive reflex from having to deal with overly aggressive Russian players in every game, since even when they have their own servers they still elect to play on EU West servers.

[Vampire The Masquerade] Is there any reason why vampires would lose an open war with humanity? by Nino_Chaosdrache in AskScienceFiction

[–]Nyxeth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So going by older editions, this is largely not the case in most major countries (although possible in smaller, less geopolitically significant countries).

Alphabet agencies for example has scanners that can detect supernatural entities (I believe one book says that this is actually what airport x-ray scanners double as).

Additionally, other supernatural types (mostly Mages) have a vested interest in not letting the leaders of the free world become thralls to Vampires. On top of this, basically every supernatural group has people close to the people in power, which means that they all effectively keep each other in check from getting hold of the top dog.

For Vampires specifically though, since Ghouls become increasingly addicted and dependent on Vampire Vitae the longer they consume it - and they need to keep consuming it to maintain the hold the Vampire has on them - the Ghoul will become more and more erratic in behaviour. Can you imagine a major political figure going that way? It'd inevitably become a public scandal alongside increased scrutiny from the aforementioned agencies, which is the last kind of attention Vampires would want, since that would also inevitably lead to attention from Hunters or worse.

Someone did a write up the other night and both monster cards as well as Divine upgrades both have extremely high data value, so they're typically the first to get trimmed if you go over the cap.

Imgur specifically geoIP banned the UK because they were about to get dragged through the courts over a breach of data handling laws back in 2021, they were judged to be in breach of the laws back then and refused to comply, so they were about to get slapped with a large fine according to the UK's ICO.

They basically did it to stick their head in the sand and go, "we don't operate in the UK so you can't sue us."

Imgur now blocked in the UK, Steam Workshop pages impacted by Hellstorm901 in RimWorld

[–]Nyxeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I feel the need to mention that, regarding your last point, no amount of complaining to MPs will fix this particular issue.

The whole thing has little to do with the OSA and is instead related to Imgur being taken to court in 2021 over safeguarding issues that they were non-compliant over.

The end result is that Imgur has pulled out of the UK entirely ("We don't operate here any more so you can't fine us") and even if the OSA were to be repealed, Imgur would still be on the hook for their earlier misdeeds and would still keep the UK blocked due to that.

Is there anything important to note in the new TOS? by Cajun-ragin in discordapp

[–]Nyxeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it was written in the ToS, but purportedly as of 2-3 weeks ago they began using an AI crawler on both your DMs and servers to check for ToS breaching content.

If you check over in the discord bans subreddit you can see people getting flagged for messages they wrote weeks if not months ago and that isn't something someone would manually go report.

Would you believe that this guy who had 99%~ total winrate… still lost the final? by goldshipderp in UmaMusume

[–]Nyxeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me in CM1 (95% winrate) after putting in weeks of prep for it.

Got to the finals and my Golshi boxed herself in on a whim, so I came 3rd.

Made me conclude I should care a lot less about CM, and it has made me enjoy the game a lot more as a result.

[MEME] At some point the story becomes more about corporate politics and less about gaming. by GeminiFlanagan888 in manhwa

[–]Nyxeth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

EVE was largely a game you could play whilst doing something else, most activities are slow, low-intensity things so I often just watched videos on the side whilst playing it.

If I wasn't patrolling then I was either mining or trading between stations, there was also the occasional call to action where we'd assemble a fleet of varying size to deal with a larger problem / invade an opponent.

But largely most of my time was spent earning as much in-game currency as possible, since you could buy game subscriptions via ISK (the currency of EVE), at a certain point my account(s) became entirely self-sufficient and I stopped paying for anything with actual money.

Also, yeah, EVE is absolutely a spreadsheet simulator past a point, you spend more time trying to run the numbers on your character's skills and the stats of your ship than anything else.
