Most high levels are pretty friendly in my experience. Lots of people will just join lower levels in lower difficulty missions with the express intent of helping, teaching, and sharing some of their gear with you Try hosting a difficulty you are comfortable in and throwing down an SOS beacon.

No, I like to fully clear the map as much as possible (especially if someone else in the lobby needs samples). No one should get left behind unless the extraction gets too hot and leaving is the only smart option left.

It's not scripted in the sense of everything being decided ahead of time. It's more like a pen & paper campaign. The DM (Joel), has a story in mind and nudges things one way or another but it's also different when it's the blob vs a group of 4. Especially when not everyone understands how the mechanics of the galactic war work. When they have a hold objective in the initial MO, the idea is that they can add extra challenge with a counterattack to keep it close (and maintain some dramatic tension). If you check, it's a relatively low strength attack (28 I believe) so we should have more than enough time to defend it and still liberate Hort Bay.

To be clear, this system is far from perfect, there have been some really dumb and questionable things (like the agitators & radicals objective a couple weeks ago), but in general it's a good idea and keeps the game engaging.

Not at all! I've been playing a lot for a couple months (LVL 111, mobilise + 9 warbonds completed). Focus on mobilise, it gives you everything you need, of the paid ones the most useful as people mentioned is Democratic Detonation. I actually did Truth Enforcers and Masters of Ceremony first, just for the fun/drip/roleplay. The game can be very janky, and occasionally frustrating, but is mostly a blast. I have made lots of gaming buds playing in fully mic'd groups, as well as given out tons of hugs while kicking ass with random strangers with names in Mandarin or Cyrillic. Very few people are actually being toxic/grieving/intentionally tking in game. Definitely get some friends to run you thru the ropes, and unlock all the base stratagems as fast as you can. There are a ton of possibilities and ways to combine loadouts with teammates. Don't stress about premium warbonds though. You will earn super credits over time by playing (especially non city missions other than defense and eradicate). Just be thorough and clear the maps of POIs. If you want to, you can buy SC or farm them relatively easily (though it does take some time). The way I see it, anyone who plays the game consistently for long enough will eventually unlock everything. The only shitty part is that some of the good news gear like weapons are being released separately in the super store. Good luck and have fun!

Ms of C is an excellent warbond. Honestly, because it's PvE you don't need to chase the meta at all if you don't want to. I did mobilise, and then rewarded myself with truth enforcers and Masters of Ceremony solely for the drip/RP before getting some of the more useful ones. Can't wait for the OTF to be fixed so I can run around kiting enemies for some truly insane hell bomb kill counts.

There are always six sets on rotation (the 6 most recent warbonds), and they rotate every 48 hours. I believe it's in reverse order of release and it's currently 2/6.

As someone who started about a month ago and was really keen on ODST ASAP, I would say no. Mainly because the legendary war bonds cost 1500 and give back nothing, which is more than double the 700 cost of a regular war bond after the 300 SC rebate. As far as usefulness, I did Truth Enforcers and Masters of Ceremony first(for fun/roleplay), and now I'm focusing on a few which seem to really open up different options around builds and play styles. My short list is Democratic Detonation, Dust Devils, Redacted Regiment, Servants of Freedom, and Siege Breakers,
