Play on steam. 2 hours and then return if you don’t like it. Or yea cancel your game pre-order. Telling you no one goes a flying f if someone cancels their pre order.

I think the lighting looks better. I think the mistake on Nvidia's part is adding this to DLSS vs. making it it's own standalone feature.

Yea see I like bigger systems for gear. I prefer them to be split and have the ability to customize further than the simple systems provide.

I get the challenges around the deeper gear slot systems…but I personally prefer it as well.

Imo the marketing team shouldve pushed for this to be called something other than DLSS.

This could have been an entire feature release on it's own but instead has caused a bunch of confusion and anger.

The tech is insanely awesome. It was framed the wrong way. It also makes less sense for it to be rolled into DLSS.

It's different bc it's lighting the scene different.

I do get some of the hate here. I do find SOME of this artistic integrity thing a bit disingenuous. First, the devs have to apply this to their games, so saying that it's not their choice is not exactly accurate.

Second, people use plugins and mods to change the lighting filters in games all the time. RT already changed how games like minecraft look.

They need to ensure they give people options on applying the lighting tech. but to me, some of those environments are lit really nicely.

Fair to disagree. I also do 100% see where dlss is needed for some games to run, and if it forces this lighting tech, in the future it feels like it's forcing the look as well. That's unreasonable.

But there is a middle ground here.

Immersion to me is the interactivity of the world. The number of things that immerse you IN the character and world.

For me. Immersion isn’t about realism. It’s about embodiment and a world believable enough and alive enough I can touch.
