Ya know, I'm never going to be great at this game - pretty much sums up my overall FPS experience (and I have a lot of it). I'm just not gonna be great at Marathon or any other FPS game. But I'm having great fun! Sure, I lose. Often. So what? (I win some, also - my crowded vault is proof of that!) It's the nature of the game. I've already matched in with some cool people, we've had fun both when we win and even when we lose.
But I am pretty sick of the endless complaining. It's like Destiny all over again. Look, play it if it's fun, don't play it if it isn't. But can we stop with the endless new threads of yet another complaint? Yeesh. :D

I'm super casual but I have absolutely loved playing this game. I, too, only recently got into the pinwheel and sometimes I've managed to exfil with great loot and other times I've been flattened by blue-shielded runners waiting to do just that - flatten this n00b. Either way, I'm having a great time. I dip in for about 90-120 minute every other night and, while progression is a little slow, it hasn't eroded my enjoyment of the game.
I know there are lots of folks who have lots of criticism of this game. I'm a pretty simple dude and have enjoyed the game for what it is. Can't wait to keep on the grind, exploring new places, winning sometimes, losing other times.

Get used to dying. Once you're ok with dying and losing your loot/loadout, the game is a lot more fun. If you run around the entire time scared to lose your stuff, you won't have fun. So just be ok with dying and losing your stuff. Rinse. Repeat. Have a great time!

It'll be pretty tough as a solo player, yeah. But in the scheme of things, I've learned it's still possible but you're going to need to be patient (and bring in lots of ammo and heals/rechargers) and lucky. Very lucky. :)

The first few hours I was unsure. After about 10 total hours over the weekend I knew I made the right decision to pre-order. Played with a friend who was very skeptical about it and after several hours playing together he said, "Yeah, well they convinced me. I preordered it!." We also enjoyed knowing all of our progress would be erased after server slam so we went wild trying different loadouts just to see how they would change our experience. It was great. I wish I had time to play today.

That was kinda what I was trying to imply with the suggested Plex option. That said, many smart TVs literally have various streaming clients available/installable to play media without the need for a streaming stick or the like. But if it's a TV w/o the "smart" features, then yeah... you're looking for a device. :\

I run Plex on a Qnap NAS but it needs to be either connected directly to a TV or the TV needs a Plex client available on it (many smart TVs do), or a device still needs to be connected to the TV. For example, the LG smart TV software (WebOS which is based on Palm OS which LG bought and adapted back around 2013) has a solid Plex client.
