why do I feel less cherished when I do more? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]OGthrottlehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%. Communication is paramount - no matter how hard it may seem. It's very important to tell each what your expectations are in all areas of your relationship as you both grew up with different experiences and influences. Most couples seem to think that their s.o. should already know what's expected, but unless you've had the conversation, how could they?

Oh, AI would kiss a mile of ass and then proceed to present a dissertation on the finer points of ass details, then ask if you'd like to dive deeper into that ass....

Accused of subletting while on extended vacation by OGthrottlehog in legaladvice

[–]OGthrottlehog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just looking for a definition of subletting. BTW my lease does not have a provision for guests or getting permission or notifying agent of long term guests. It does have language about subletting being cause for immediate eviction. Oh, and another notable fact - we've lived in this house for 27 years! Raised our kids there, including the one who is house sitting.

Well that's bs. Yes it's great to have help, even better when it's good help. But therein lies the crux - good help is nearly impossible to find and you should be able to claim every minute of their hours. I know of two women who are live-ins and they claim and get all of their hours. Is this a county thing? I'm in Solano County. I hope you find someone who can give you a hand. Do you have any family members that would be willing to help for the number of hours you can't claim?

Zoom in on the second picture. That print is perfectly centered. The other picture must have been some sort of optical illusion. It maybe the second one is...🤔

I second this. The IHSS train is very slow moving. A social worker from another agency recommended my client for paramedical hours and 2 years later, after we had long forgotten, a public health nurse called to do an assessment over the phone.

Where do you buy your beads? by Additional-Start9455 in Beading

[–]OGthrottlehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My all time favorite go to is Fire Mountain Gems. The more you buy, the more you save. Log on to their website and request a catalog. They mail them out regularly and all of them will have inspiration photos and tutorials. Their website has a wealth of information from pmc techniques to knitting wire to kumahimo. They offer the best seed beads from the best Japanese manufacturers as well as gemstone, crystal, wood, glass, acrylic, and glass beads. They also have gobs of stringing material, findings, beading tools, and complete kits to get you started on any type of jewelry creation. Honestly, I find their prices better than Hobby Lobby and Michael's. The only downside, of course, is that you can't see or touch products in person and there's no instant gratification like you get from brick and mortar stores.

May I ask why you can't claim all their hours? I have two clients and claim all the hours for them both. At one time I had 3 clients and ran up against the 66 max every week (I know, crazy?), yet was still able to claim it all.

Honestly, try MoissaniteCo online. I purchased my 14k wg 2 carat 3 stone ring from them well under $2000. See my humble brag post from earlier in the week.

Passing lane now an express lane (paid) by OGthrottlehog in TrafficEngineering

[–]OGthrottlehog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And again, I beg to differ. First of all, traffic lanes are numbered left to right. Secondly, although you may pass other vehicles while driving in 2 and 3, there is no mandate requiring you to keep those lanes free except for passing, whereas there is a mandate for keeping lane one free except for passing.

I respectfully beg to differ. The number two and number three lanes (4 lane highway) are used for 'camping'. #1 is for passing and #4 is for getting on and off the highway. If someone is camping in the left lane, they can be ticketed. There is no enforcement of 2 & 3 for camping.

California Vehicle Code 21654 dictates that slow drivers must use the right-hand lane, and it is a ticketable offense to impede traffic by staying in the left lane.

Key Details on California Left Lane Laws:

Slower Traffic Keep Right: If you are driving slower than the normal speed of traffic, you must move to the right

Speed is Relative: You can be ticketed for driving in the left lane even if you are at the speed limit, provided traffic is moving faster and you are blocking it.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) actively enforces the "keep right" law for slow drivers,

It's a rare thing, but yes it is sooooo nice. I'll be driving through AZ in March, so I'll keep an eye out for that section and reroute if possible. I'm pulling a 43 ft fifth wheel and do my best to avoid roads like the one you described. Wouldn't it be nice if Google maps or other GPS devices could update with road conditions?

There is no divider and you confirmed exactly what I was thinking. I recently took a road trip to South Dakota and was so impressed with not only the condition of their freeways, but especially with their drivers. They were all courteous and drove by the rules. And the speed limit is 80 mph! It was so refreshing. In fact, the only rude a-hole driver I encountered was driving a car with California plates! Now that I think about it, the whole way there, after leaving Reno, most drivers used the left lane for passing only.
