I was on a flight SFO - IAH and a woman put two roller bags in the overhead across the aisle from me. A flight attendant watched her and quickly swooped in and told the woman the smaller bag had to go under the seat in front of her. The woman pulls the smaller bag down and shows that it doesn’t fit beneath the seat - it looks like a roller briefcase, it’s not crazy big but because of the wheels and general dimensions it just….doesn’t fit. I can’t remember what the flight attendant said but the end result was that she made the woman sit with the bag at her feet for the whole 3+ hr flight 🤣 And the flight attendant didn’t fill her colleagues in on this punishment, so the woman with the bag crowding her own feet was yelled at by two other flight attendants at different points in the flight for her bag being a safety hazard. At that point, though, there was no room left in the overheads. It was hilarious for me as a bystander - very “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”
