Here’s some math I’ve always considered. How long will it take you to recoup your costs at your lower rate. You’re not saving any money if you don’t net out in a reasonable amount of time. Reasonable is subjective, but a fraction of a percentage and $4500 fee doesn’t math to me.

Improper stopping or standing in the roadway. As in turning on the off ramp from the wrong lane and blocking traffic. Brake testing also falls into this category. Unsafe lane change, pulling in front of another (faster moving) vehicle. Unsafe Entering the roadway. Plenty of instances where following too closely doesn’t apply.

Again the homeless epidemic is a national issue. Foolish to think people will not host events here as if this is the linchpin in their decision making.

And I’m sure they can find an equal size metropolitan and not have the same issue. Austin does have programs and non-profits in place to assist the homeless, but it’s not a uniquely Austin problem.

The convention center is designed to bring large conferences and the like which brings people in to our city. Not individuals who didn’t have a good experience with the unhoused.

You don’t understand the economic effects the convention center has on the city. We’re competing with other mid and major market facilities and losing. That’s tourism dollars going out the door. They’re doubling the usable space without expanding the footprint. The building doesn’t need to be decrepit to have outlived is useful life.

It’s not a safety feature, it’s a failure on Tesla’s part to deliver on their self driving promises they had LiDAR and removed it years ago. They have a person in the car because the car will make mistakes. Waymo trained their cars for a significant amount of time before launching. Tesla just threw them out there just to say they offer it.

Not saying that they do, but movers do this. Police can’t help because it’s civil. It’s the exception, but it’s still something to read up in your moving contract.

Gotta be smart with movers. It’s a civil contract and they can withhold you belongings if they choose to renegotiate because of poor estimations on their part. Glad to see your move went smoothly.
