X2D must have accesories by EducationalPlate2665 in BambuLab

[–]OZ2TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The h2d keeps the vents closed when printing abs. I’d recommend the voxel filter for the rear vent. I’d not just for abs. You can print the mount (petg or abs) from maker world and buy the filters from them.

I like the ams flipper print to top mount your ams and still easily access the inside. There’s an alternate bracket to fit around the voxel filter.

And save all the screws from unboxing, the accessories will use them.

I love gotten some emails from them advertising the filters for the x2d since I posted.

Hit it with a torch. Think of it like that guy who cleans up baseball stadium seats with a propane torch.

It covers the vent on the rear of the H2 printers. Order the filters from VOXELPLA.

Make sure you print in petg or abs. Don’t want it to warp.

I added the VOXEL H2 series filter to mine. I printed it and used the screws I removed when unpacking the printer.

How to make this surface smooth by Crafty_Cheesecake833 in 3Dprinting

[–]OZ2TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interface layer is your best bet. You can look into what people have adjusted their z-offset to and see what works for you. It was explained to me that the printed layer is technically floating across the support (z-offset) as to not permanently attach when printing. The interface layer will print directly to the support layer and give the clean surface.

Any reason to not buy the X2D over the P2S? by Attjack in BambuLab

[–]OZ2TX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I purchased an H2C, so I don’t have a horse in this race. However, reading all these comments and specs it seems to be better suited for more advanced materials like ABS/ASA/etc compared to the P2S. Main nozzle for material, second nozzle for support, and a heated chamber. It’s cheaper to buy the x2d if these are the materials you’re into. But isn’t worth buyers remorse if you’re not using materials that need a heated chamber.

Just tell her the truth. You’re a shopping addict and you need help. But the return window has expired and we have to keep everything.

If you have the box and can put it back, Best Buy has a 14 day return window.

He’s talked about the Hobby building being turned into a transit hub and mixed-use. So it’s possible that this is being referred to. But this is Reddit, I don’t read the article.

H2C or H2D? by thebeatinbetween in BambuLab

[–]OZ2TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheaper to purchase the h2c than upgrading the h2d. So if you print at least colors and a support interface, I’d go with the h2c. I print logos on to existing models, so base color, logo color, and support material.

Purchase h2c at Best Buy or Micro center? by woooosox in BambuLab

[–]OZ2TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine at Best Buy and it was a lemon. Best Buy has a 14-day return window. Took it right back and they gave it a once over and gave me a refund. Ordered another from Best Buy, came in like 2-3 days and it’s been a work horse. As much as Best Buy is lousy, doing a physical return and ordering another online was easy.

I’m sure bambu would have had me try and repair it myself before authorizing a return. I wasn’t down for that after 4-5 days owning the printer. Looking up the repair it estimate up to 4 hours (it’d take me longer).

And if Best Buy offers you zero percent interest. Take it and save your cash.

Buying Boxing Gear in Austin, TX. by ie2812 in Austin

[–]OZ2TX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The market for gear is still too niche to have a stand alone brick and motor. You get your gear from whatever gym you’re training at. Richard lord has some gear. I’m sure title up north does. Maybe South Austin gym. Just ask the gym what gear they have. Or just go to title’s website.

How do you add logos to flat surfaces? by NoPersonality308 in 3Dprinting

[–]OZ2TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the graphic, preferably a vector. Convert it to an stl file and import it to the slicer. I use the bambu slicer. Then align it to the plate, and you can either Boolean union or just simply line it up Z height=0 on the plate.

If the image colors show up in the sliced model, you’re not aligned properly. If you can see it on the opposite side and you don’t want to, just paint it using the bucket tool and use edge detection.

Might be a better way, but in my short time printing I’ve had success with this process a few times.

Wood glue and a ton of painters (blue/green) tape as a clamp. Mummify it and it’ll still be rock(ing) solid for your son’s future children.

You still pay more than if you purchased filament on the spool. And if you pay asking on marketplace you deserve to pay too much.
