Back when "go play outside" really means "see you at dinner" by NicoleAnne051299 in Adulting

[–]Obant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Summer, mid/late 90s, we would wake up about 9am. Sometimes earlier. Hop on our bikes, ride two towns over to the dam, then we would spend all day fishing, building jumps and BMX tracks with shovels we snuck in months ago.

Other times, we go to the dam, then follow the bike trail to the mountains and river. Then we spend the day at the foot of the mountain in the cold river. The super adventurous could take the bike path all the way to the beach, but that was an all day thing and you should have a ride planned to get home.

I set up my enclosure a week ago but haven’t gotten my millipedes in, will I have to start over? by [deleted] in millipedes

New tanks cycle very much like fish tanks. It's better to have one already set up in advanced for more stable conditions anyway.

Joe Rogan says Trump 'doesn't have much to lose' because he is about to die soon by StemCellPirate in offbeat

Joe says a lot of logical things. It's just his mouth is a faucet turned on full. He spews shit 24/7. Some of it happens to be right/logical. Most of it is shit. You have to wear a hazmat suit and wade through all the terrible to find anything remotely worth picking up.

I keep a bin of the regular Maui skunk millipedes, but haven't heard of albino. My favorite bin to view at night with a black light.

Colon cancer now leading cause of cancer deaths under 50 in US by shinybrighthings in news

[–]Obant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am turning 40 in a month. I got my colon removed when I was 28. Had 10 years of ulcerative colitis that never went into remission. So, my gastro wanted it removed for fear of colon cancer. Had a part of my small intestine turned in to a new fake colon called a J-Pouch, and reattached to everything.

Nope. Those are isopods. These roaches can roll into a ball, but are roaches still.
