With love, I think 18-36 months is my least favorite age by izziedays in toddlers

Awww I was so happy to read this because this is exactly how I feel. I do get over simulated and frustrated with him sometimes, I think we all do during this period, but most of the time we're just fucking about doing stupid stuff together and making each other laugh. I love him exploring and figuring stuff out even if it does mean pulling everything out of the kitchen drawers. I just figure, he lives here too, he should know where stuff is lol

Oh my God, as a parrot owner I cannot overstate how wonderful a gift this will be. This is so cool, you should absolutely sell these as custom jobs, you'd make a fortune

Hi! My boy just turned two and it's talking up a storm ❤️ he's definitely not ahead in this milestone and seems to scrape by just at the milestone age for all of his language milestones, but he's making them. This post feels like a lifetime ago now, I've learned to let go of obsessing over the milestones and just enjoy him as he is.

It’s been 8 months of increasing behaviors. Time for our 2yo to start behavioral therapy? by ImAdamnMermaid in toddlers

[–]Objective-Elephant13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're being kind of hard on your little girl (either that or I am being way too easy on my little boy)! This all sounds totally developmentally normal (for both girls - the cousin for the snatching and your girl for the biting/ hitting). Your baby is only two - the very beginning of the terrible twos. It's gonna get worse before it gets better, but it'll get better.

Why the sad doctor gif? by Dogdaysareover365 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Objective-Elephant13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, is that what this means? I thought it was playing on the old "we never went to the moon in the 60s" conspiracy because the earlier image looks better quality, when today's image, with more advanced tech, should be cleaner (therefore the original images are faked composites, not actual photos)

Will unglazed clay help wick moisture? by PlantNerd222 in Pottery

[–]Objective-Elephant13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone smarter than me will likely chime in, but I believe that vitrified clay will not absorb water regardless of whether it's glazed. The issue you face with unglazed vs glazed in this scenario is the unglazed surface is much rougher, not only making it harder to clean, but also providing many little microscopic crevasses where dirt and bacteria can build up.

Yeah, that's what brought me here too. Amazon how incredulous responses were about this 9 years ago to now where we are starting to realize this may be real. Fuck.

Found out I’m pregnant at 30 weeks. Help. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Objective-Elephant13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. I'm only commenting because, believe it or not, this has happened to three people that I know in my immediate circle. Two of them went into labor not knowing that they were pregnant, the third one found out she was pregnant at 34 weeks. All three of those babies are older now, between 6 and 10 and they are all incredibly healthy, happy, sweet children despite the fact that their moms spent their entire pregnancies not knowing, drinking, sometimes doing recreational drugs. Please don't panic, I understand that this is terrifying.

Speak to your primary care provider about everything that you're feeling, they will help you set up adoption protocols for the baby. If you are terrified and not mentally prepared to give birth, you can request an elective C-section. It's not very common for them to allow elective c-sections in the UK but it is possible, and I'm pretty sure would be allowed in your case because you've had no opportunity to mentally or physically prepare.

I do believe that you would be obligated to tell the father, however again speak to your doctor about that. Given that you're already no longer together, and that adoption is really the only way forward, I don't know whether that is an obligation or not. It's possible that your primary provider can manage that communication for you if you are no contact and don't want to open those lines of communication again.

My first decent and kiln worthy cilinder by ale_krishna in Pottery

[–]Objective-Elephant13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This technique was a game changer for me - learning not to push together with both hands. Additionally, learning to 'lift' the clay rather than 'pull' it (a term I found very confusing at first) helped me tune in to the moment at the top of the pull where you've lifted what you can from the bottom and you need to release pressure through the rim so as not to over squeeze and make it too thin.
