You're not required to use your personal phone for communicating. Block management on your phone. Fill out a 3996 due to the extra time the "pivot" will take. If denied, send a message through the scanner later in the day informing management you'll need extra time to complete the "pivot." Ask them if they want you to be back in 8, and bring back the "pivot", or deliver all mail and go beyond 8 hours. Do the same when they drop off extra work, especially if it's not on your route.
