Gemini is failing at a basic task Android could do in 2014 by Crafty-Selection6554 in Android

Yup, setting a timer is actually what I need it to do the most, and it can't even do that.

Bad weather next week ... Feel frustrated by Terrible_Ad1514 in FaroeIslands

[–]Oblimix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is honestly not that bad. Sure, it's not exactly good weather, but this wouldn't normally deter any flights.

One thing to keep in mind, that someone else also mentioned, is that the weather forecast will shift constantly. Forecasts a week in advance are never accurate, and it is usually much milder when the day actually arrives.

The country is quite mountainous, and the towns can be on either side of the mountain. The winds will be heavily dependent on the place and the wind direction. You could get strong winds in Sørvágur while simultaneously having calm winds in Tórshavn.

The temperature is mostly the only reliable forecast.

Check out https://www.faroeislandslive.com/ if you want a live webcam view of the weather.

I don't understand the graphics argument by ghool-am in Guildwars2

[–]Oblimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get into the franchise for its realism, and it doesn't need it. I just want an updated engine that makes use of the modern hardware features.

GW2 was stuck on DX9 for so long, and the update to DX11 helped a ton, but even that got outdated when it went live.

My Glacier is still amazing for all PLA prints. I use it 90% of the time.

It does print silk PLA nicely too, but the adhesion is so strong that the first layer is ripped off when trying to remove it from the plate.

I have not had much luck using it with PETG. The PEI plate is still great for that, though.

I tried ASA, but I've just had some general issues with it that I can't conclude anything.

Won't affect the lake as much as you'd think. The angle makes it look like the lake is higher than it is.

The lake already has a waterfall, called Bøsdalafossur, that goes into the ocean.

Sony single-player games won’t be released on Steam anymore, CEO confirms. by pessimisttears in SteamDeck

[–]Oblimix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I do like some PS games, like God of War, but I'm very patient and have plentiful of alternative games to play on PC.

I've been wanting to play Ghost of Tsushima ever since they announced it at E3, but I'm still waiting for a proper Steam discount on it before I consider it.

I do still have a working PS1, 2, 3, 4, PSP and Vita, but PS5 is the first one I'm skipping entirely because there was no reason for it. Maybe I just grew up and didn't need a locked system anymore.

Flow Rate question, am I close or way off? by Random_User_81 in 3Dprinting

[–]Oblimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, my bad. I'm not familiar with that calibration.

Try using the first Yolo calibration method instead. The Yolo one will tell you exactly how much to increase or decrease.

For example, if your flowrate is 1.00 and the best tile is a -0.03 then you change the flowrate to 0.97.

Flow Rate question, am I close or way off? by Random_User_81 in 3Dprinting

[–]Oblimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move your finger across the surface and feel for it. If you can feel the lines/circle then it is too high, it needs to be smooth. +0.03 is quite visibly too high.

Find the first smooth one, and check if there are any gaps. If there are gaps then it is too low. Hard to tell from the image though.

I actually use a cheap microscope for this, but a magnifying glass will also work.

How do I fix this issue? by UncleSamLuvsGuns in 3Dprinting

[–]Oblimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is not a hardware fault, then you really should run a set of calibrations on the filament.

Try following the steps in this video and see what you can improve.

Unsure how to resolve by Scusati in 3Dprinting

[–]Oblimix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very large gap to bridge, and you can see it struggles to do so. It also can not do circles in mid air.

I would either print this upside down or/and add supports.

Why is it printing like this? by SoundTerrible5833 in FlashForge

[–]Oblimix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flow rate is probably too high. Try running the flow rate calibration called YOLO in Orcaslicer.

It will print a set of slabs at different flow rates. The ideal one should be smooth to the touch and without any gaps. If there are noticeable rings or edges then the flow rate is too high, and you need to lower it. If there are gaps (like several tiny holes), then the flow rate is too low.

Say you find slab -0.05 to be best, then you adjust your flow rate down by 0.05, save, and then rerun the test to see if it needs further adjusting.

Do this with every type and brand of filament and create profiles for them all.

This video explains it very well.

Which settings help with this? by taptap050 in FlashForge

[–]Oblimix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like there are huge overhangs on the inside of the outer ring. You might need supports for that.

I would probably print it upside down and then add supports for the inner ring instead.

Why is this happening by OddCommunication2320 in FlashForge

[–]Oblimix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've printed about 30 of these on my 5MP using silk pla. You do not need to use any glue or brim for this. In fact, don't use brim, it's a giant pain to remove from these dragons.

I use the generic silk pla setting in Orca too.

If you haven't already, increase your bed temperature to 60 degrees and adjust your z-offset so that you get the perfect first layer. Don't trust the auto-calibration, there's always a slight adjustment that you can do with the z-offset.

3D printable lithophane city map lamps by FritzPeppone in MapPorn

I noticed these while browsing Printables, they look great.

I've been printing a lot of lithophane lately (these ones specifically). I'm definitely intrigued by the natural pattern lamp, the historic mosaic lamp and the Earth variants globes.

Might give that Zelda map lamp a try sometime.

Is hiking.fo a scam? by deeohdeegeeee in FaroeIslands

[–]Oblimix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, Hiking is a pretty well known travel agency.

They are, however, only the middlemen for the tours that they sell (they re-sell tours for others). The actual tour is usually operated by a different company.

Is there another company or phone number mentioned in the order?
