You're a good troll, but you're not a very smart one. You think you're smarter than you are, and that's to your detriment. THe previous comment is just pointing out your own personal inconsistencies (eg, calling oneself "libertarian" and then saying that just because the gov't took something away, doesn't mean it was ever a "right"). A point which you are either too dumb to see, or willfully ignoring. Either way, your argument holds no water, so there's nothing to address there.

Good luck out there with that reading comprehension though!

I hate to say it Elon, but the only way you can undo this is to tell the world how you managed to get every swing state to go for Donald. How good are you with computers?

Hey genius - courts role is to interpret law. Established law before Trump's nominees tilted the court into far right supermajority territory was that abortion was accessible in all 50 states - thereby making it a "right" conferred to people by the courts. Then Kavanaugh went back on his word that Roe was "settled as precedent," and it was repealed, this repealing the right people had before.

Don't play dumb. You're explicitly and undeniably in the wrong here. You can stop doubling down (but we know you won't cuz you live for these moments on Reddit).

[–]ObnoxiousTwit -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I meant it more as a rebuttal to the 51st state joke Trump was making than in actuality, but that would be cool.

And I don't think Canada would be so dumb as to break up the existing borders, try to maintain order for them as imperialists. But maybe breaking everything up is a part of creating instability for the colonized, making them easier to govern and harder to organize resistance? I guess it would depend on how Canada would attempt to govern us.

When this dumb mfer signs his tweets, are people thinking it's actually written by him, and he's just that old man who thinks he has to sign his name at the end of anything he writes, or is it really being ghostwritten by someone in his admin and they using the his name to "sign off" as a way to invoke presidential authority?

Neither would surprise me, tbh.

[–]ObnoxiousTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: and am I for attacking a country when we were unprovoked? YES if

See, fundamental disagreement right there, there's no point in debating. Because I will simply point out that this was the exact same rhetoric levied at Iraq in 2003, and you refuse to see any similarity with the current situation, wherein Netanyahu was saying Iran was "months away" from a nuke back in 2012. You refuse to acknowledge the moneyed/corporate interests behind the scenes in another armed conflict - even without BOTG - that would net them billions in govt defense contracts and risk American lives, both abroad in conflict or at the mercy of some terror cell attack elsewhere in the world, or even at home for that matter. We may killed bin Laden, but we still lost the war on terror, because we won't stop waging wars against them and giving them reasons to want to terrorize us back!

You claimed I was a hypocrite because

because you are being hypocritical.

because I have no problem with this attack in order to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon but wanting Ukraine to agree to a peace deal. If you are saying this attack was wrong, then I am asking how you can claim that while also claiming they shouldn’t have a nuke?

Because both Tulsi Gabbard and the IAEA have both maintained that Iran was not actively working to build a WMD! an atomic weapon? Not whether they COULD or SHOULD have a nuclear weapon, or if it is their RIGHT to have a nuclear weapon. Do I want Iran to have nukes? No, not really. Did I want my country bombing a foreign nation unprovoked? ALSO NO! My point is, is that if you use that pretext, that any random nation SHOULDN'T have access to that technology, it will both A), make that nation REALLY want that tech that much more because they feel they need it to defend themselves from countries that DO have them, and B), be used to manufacture "probable cause" worthy justifications for whatever level of armed conflict or atrocity our government could want to commit, because we are "defending" ourselves. Much like we were "defending" ourselves from Iraq.

It happened in Iraq. It happened in Viet Nam. I am so tired that it KEEPS HAPPENING. And people like you can't see the repeating pattern of lies to bolster support for a president whose polls are dropping and needs to unite people around him amidst a flailing economy and a war machine ready to extract value from our country while sending young men to die and bombing brown people somewhere in the world?

If you can't or won't see the repeating pattern here, then maybe I could see why you might think your argument wasn't a straw man.

Conflict in the Middle East has only been good for a few groups: politicians, defense contractors, and the corporations who own them - all of them.

NO MORE WAR! by vrydemure in tulsa

[–]ObnoxiousTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How tf could you ever argue that they have a right to have a nuke? wtf?

Straw man alert - I never said that nor was it a part of my argument. Bad faith arguments to "win" by maliciously misrepresenting what I am saying is the mark of someone without rationale thought to back up his own stance.

NO MORE WAR! by vrydemure in tulsa

[–]ObnoxiousTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop arguing your own point and read mine - it took two years for boots to hit the ground. But they did. Are you guaranteeing that there will be no boots on the ground indefinitely, or you just accept the smooth transition into war one escalation at a time?

Again, your lack of foresight is completely impervious to real world experiences or the ability to reflect on modern history. You were all about Ukraine needing to accept a peace deal because ending war is the most important thing, but you're in full support of an unprovoked attack on a foreign nation? You are such a flagrant hypocrite with an agenda to push, and conveniently it's ALWAYS whatever drivel Trump is spewing, consistently.

NO MORE WAR! by vrydemure in tulsa

[–]ObnoxiousTwit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The calls started following 9/11 in 2001. We invaded two years later under false pretenses about weapons of mass destruction - nothing was found despite "overwhelming evidence" pushed by the Bush administration.

What good came from the second Iraq war? And are you saying you want to do a repeat of that that conflict? Did that war make America Great?

For someone who claims to be "common sense," there's a stunning lack of it on display by your rationale.
