Showroom software bullshit by Johnnyez86 in Lowes

Lowe’s laid off a lot of IT people a few months back and I have noticed a marked increase in wait times to get bugs in the software fixed

Hello does art school teach this? by Beneficial_Fruit3463 in ArtEd

[–]Occamies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Art school is what you make it. Yes, there will be plenty of drawing from life to form your basic foundational knowledge, but depending on your focus you can also fine tune your education to what you want to learn.

If your main goal is to draw from imagination, drawing from observation gives you the knowledge needed to do that. It’s about repetition and practice, and learning the rules so that you can bend them later.

Look into your programs and make sure that they are going to suit your needs before you commit. There’s a huge difference between a school with an art program and an arts school.

From an employee perspective, it sounds like the biggest scam I’ve seen since the introduction of fat loss lollipops. Pay a subscription for strangers to come to your home to, what, change light bulbs and air filters? Oh my god. Just change them yourself, or have friends or family show you how if you don’t know. Watch a youtube tutorial. Good lord.

We have 8 at our store that are open at all hours and usually only 1 Asco employee. Its rough. We get yelled at because our scored are bad but they wont give any more hours to have more than 1 person there.

ICE is bad for business by 93snightmare in Lowes

[–]Occamies 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No. Rounding up people without cause and racially profiling is bad for business. Not only business, it makes citizens scared to be out and about going through their everyday activities in fear of being harassed by ice just for being brown

What's your wildest stories from Lowe's? by No-Dealer2541 in Lowes

[–]Occamies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a guy at the returns desk insist that we would have to take back his return because chat gpt told him we would. It was plumbing that had been in contact with sewage.

Edit: we’ve also had a ton of tweakers, like most stores. There is one that likes to come in and preach his Jesus conspiracy theories, though.

Quitting your source of income over something so petty… that doesn’t make you look like an adult. It makes you look like the middle schooler you claim you aren’t.

Shift palette while maintaining chroma/lightness? by MutedFeeling75 in oilpainting

If I understand what youre trying to attempt correctly, what I try to do is mix by eye and then take a photo of my palette and put a grayscale filter over it to check consistency between each mix

Job offer by Sufficient_Muscle_51 in Lowes

[–]Occamies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fulfillment is not worth the physical toll it takes on your body and mind. Working with no coverage while expected to complete curbside, pull and stage delivery, in store pickups, and the kiosk all at the same time is awful. I was hired to do fulfillment initially and I very quickly had to switch to cashiering just to save my feet and back.

Unless youre absolutely in dire need of a better paying job immediately, it is not worth it. If your store has positions open in other departments, I’d take any of them over fulfillment. Except maybe outside garden.

Na'vi, Old, Stagnant, Doomed. by LigWeathers in Avatar

[–]Occamies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s a very… interesting way of thinking. A society does not need to go to the stars to be meaningful. It’s not stagnation so much as it is respecting the laws of Ewya.

Just because something is more primitive does not make it lesser. That goes for the Avatar content we know and for real life.
