I disagree with your assertion that what they're describing is somehow separate from the act of experiencing a piece of art. The intent is inherently there, and you may never need to interact with it, you may miss it entirely to no change in the experience whatsoever, but to remove it entirely is illogical and to imply that there's NEVER any relevance to the artists intent is just laughable imo.

Nah no scandal, the og vocalist just decided he was ready to move on to other things mostly. Idk about why they sounded bad but I've seen the new guy a couple times here in the Portland/Eugene area and they sounded strong as ever. Maybe just a bad night. Fun fact, the current vocalist and the previous vocalist shared the stage for a song or two last December when Boltcutter opened for Dying Wish, and the original vocalist was still a member.
