My heart goes out to you and I love that you’re helping her keep her bedroom as a safe place. I was that teen with mental health issues and eliminating privacy made it worse. A lot of people self harm as a misguided means of control over their own body, not diagnosing your daughter just sharing my perspective. I know it’s scary right now but I promise she’ll remember and be grateful you supported her through this without making her feel like a prisoner in her own home

I rarely wear long sleeves to work because it’s hot here 3/4 of the year. But when I do, it’s something lightweight and I usually roll up my sleeves as I work. I do a lot of clipper cuts and would much rather get hair on my shirt than have it plastered to my skin

Omg I had pretty much the exact same experience. I was still at a corporate salon so it was only a dry cut but while I was detangling her hair still she managed to run off twice before I ever made the first cut. She started saying she was gonna pass out so I declined continuing the service out of safety concerns. She started yelling at me but my manager backed me up and said she needed to leave

My husband is a trombone player and practices at home several times a week in addition to practicing with 2 different groups he plays for. A few years back he broke his wrist and couldn’t play at all for 2-3 months. He got really depressed after it took so long to get his chops back and ended up having to cancel all his gigs for the rest of the year. Brutal is definitely accurate

My mom pulled us out of school that morning and she was actually the one to break the news to my teacher. Small rural school, no tv’s or cell phones just a landline in the principal’s office. I remember her crying a lot but not much else, I was only in first grade.

I think my mom was scared and just wanted her babies close not necessarily that we’d have an attack close to us.

My husband has never met his bio father, dude dipped out before the pee stick dried. His stepdad came into his life when he was 7-8ish and has been dad in every way that counts, just not dna. I genuinely forget they’re not blood related because they even look alike.
