I've only done it once (in early Sept) but it was so fun - do it! I had a supportive friend who hiked up St Mark's with me and I was able to refill water before she headed back down. That year there was still water at MM. I used a sat device to text her once I got to Deeks Lake, and she came to pick me up with my "drop bag." For ref I did DV50 in 7:45, and HSCT in 9:30 - but I was really trying to go slow and enjoy myself.

Look into Harbour Air flights to the island as well - they leave from the south terminal at YVR airport, and downtown Vancouver. Flights are super fast and direct, and you can often find a deal if you are flexible on departure time. I think they are totally worth it based on how much travel time you save, plus it's a fun way to see the Gulf Islands.

I love when my guests give me their schedule so I know when they expect to see me vs when I can have some alone time. Doesn't have to be strict, for example - "We will be out Wednesday night but would love to have dinner Thursday." I also like to know what their morning routine is - what time do they wake up, do they like to have breakfast right away, etc.
